So i saw a few posts in AA lounge about the VN and thought i would make it easy for all you guys to download it. It was on my to read list for a long time but the recent reboot of the anime finally prompted me to read it. And i must say it was fucking amazing. I took two screenshots of the VN itself to show my time played and the intro screen showing last episode signifying i have completed every VN end.

So now i just want to clarify the order the fate series should be read/watched in. For those of us who like info graphic's better here is a picture containing the order to everything in what is called the nasuverse! Warning large!

Now as the above info graphic states Fate/Zero is a PREQUEL to Fate/Stay Night and was meant to be viewed SECOND not first. Fate/Zero spoils quite a bit of the visual novel. Most importantly the entirety of the Fate route , a major reveal of the UBW route , and the first half of the HF route. While these spoilers are heavy if you have viewed Fate/Zero first i would still recommend the visual novel as there are so many details and things about the world that you miss in fate/zero because you have not read this. A lot of scenes there carry a lot of meaning that is lost on you without reading this. Plus Fate/Stay Night has it's own twists and turns that i am sure you will enjoy. With the Fate/Zero implications out of the way let me move on to the order to play Fate/Stay Night. In the instructions on how to download it there are 3 separate "games". Each is one of the major visual novel routes, Fate , UBW , and Heavens Feel. You should play them in this order. Fate > UBW > Heavens Feel. I am unsure but i do not think you can even play UBW without completing fate. Same thing with Heavens Feel and UBW. Regardless they are meant to be played in that order as info will be lost if say you play UBW first. So much info will be lost on shirou and the big overall plot of the route without prior knowledge from Fate.
And now finally i will get onto installation.

Latest LAV filters (This makes it so the Vita openings present at the end of day 3 do not give you an error. How to install!
1) Extract the patch using Winrar or any other zipping tool.

2) Put the "faterealtanua_savedata" folder in your documents.

3) Put all the .xp3 files in the folders from the patch into the "faterealtanua_savedata" folder so it looks like this

4) Extract one of the routes. You'll get a folder named "Fate／stay night[Realta Nua] -Fate-" for the fate route.

5) Extract the fate crack rar and you'll get a data.xp3 file and Fate／stay night[Realta Nua] -Fate-.exe file, put them both in the folder in step 4.

6) Rename both the crack exe and folder name and take out the "／" and "[ ]" so it looks like this "Fatestay nightRealta Nua -Fate-" or just rename them both to the route name (Example: Fate, UnlimitedBladeWorks, HeavensFeel).
NOTE: If you have your local set to Japanese/Korean the / is fine and you do not need to alter game file names.

7) Open the game with the crack exe and enjoy. If it doesn't open the first time, just try opening it again.

8) Repeat steps 4-7 for the other routes.

After you have done the above the first time you start the VN it will start instantly with the prologue. The prologue is a a short view of the first three days from Rin's PoV. Once it is over to continue just hit start and you will start the fate route again except from shirou's perspective. He will be the main protagonist through the entirety of the VN that you view the world through.

General VN Tips inside!

General VN tips:

1.Right click to access the menu.

2.Make the first save slot your "bookmark" and save over it every time you're about to close the game.

3.When choices pops up, remember to save in an empty save slot before choosing so you can go back and choose again any time. If you forgot to save, you can easily go back since the game will always ask you if you want to skip a segment of the story you've already read.

4.You can hold the CTRL button to quickly skip through text. Be careful though, you might skip through text you haven't read yet.

5.Scroll up to access the text log which shows previously read text.


Now to wrap it all up the above patch of the game includes the R18+ scenes present in the original VN. There are options to turn them off if you so choose but it alters the story of these parts which can be very significant in the Heavens Feel route. Disabling them is up to you but i prefer the story unaltered.

Personally right now I'm only gonna play the Fate route so that I can watch the anime with the best possible experience, although I'm gonna have to wait for HF I guess.

A copy of the flowchart is included in the patch download i think but i put it there just in case. Never know when you might need to re download it.

Based on what you just said of sakura you did not read the novel to even the first routes conclusion. rofl
Just completing the first route of the novel will make you call sakura nothing close to what you said.

She merely knew that what he was doing was foolish in disobeying Zouken. And SPOILER SPOILER. What Zouken was doing to her was torturing her every night. And he would continue to do so for the next 10 years while having her "brother" rape her when he felt like it while also feeling disowned by the Tohsaka family as she was basically sold to the matous because a mage family can only have one child. Again if you had played the visual novel you would have a much different opinion of sakura and her motivations.

As you can see sakura did nothing to him. He collapses while having his hallucination and then falls down the stairs into the bugs. She could do nothing to save him and even if she had stopped him from falling into the bugs zouken would have killed him anyways.

As for the poster above you. Yes the stuff in the spoiler is explained in the Heavens Feel route of the Fate/Stay Night VN.
