How to make computer/overall security of computer

Hey guys sorry if I am posting this is the wrong section( im kinda a noob 🤣)

anyways, how would you stop people from hacking/rating,etc. Besides not going to skechy websites n stuff. I already use a vpn and wpa2 wifi encryption(yes it can be cracked ive done it myself, is there anything more secure than that?) Sorry for my little ramble there, but the overall point is, is there anything else that I should be doing? I was thinking of setting up a honeypot or is that in the wrong direction?

P.S. if you suggest i use tor for internet surfing, i don't because of the recently discovered "hacked" russian nodes.
You can never be "bulletproof" a VPN should be enough I honestly dont know what you do, unless you are running a million pc botnet you dont need too much anonymity.
Well it depends of what you're looking for.
Start by filling out the form in this thread :

This way, we can have an idea of your actual setup.

Okay so you basically have nothing ..

Firewall : windows and Mac? (i am using boot camp)
Antimalware : none
Protection Utilities : vpn (tunnel bear for pc,mac and ios) i don't know if this counts
Web Browser : Chrome 64 bit (what else would i use :P)
Web Browser Extensions/Addons : ad block plus
Others : firmware encryption password

yes my pc/mac security is pretty bad :(
What should I improve? andything else i should get? is a honeypot a good idea too?

What are your computer specs ? Also, you'll need an Antivirus. Do you want a free or a paid product ?

What I can suggest you is only for Windows since I'm not into OS X, nor am I interested in it.
For an Antivirus, you can pretty much support every free ones there is, I recommend either : avast!, Avira or Qihoo 360 IS (not TS, IS). If you pick avast! or Avira, you'll need a firewall. The best free one there is is Comodo Firewall, because of their HIPS. If it bugs you (trust me, you'll notice it), you can lower it's security of disable it. As for web extensions, for basic security I would go with : HTTPSEverywhere, Ghostery, ScriptSafe (learn to manage it) and Adblock + AdBlock Plus OR uBlock with your own set of rules. Web of Trust is also a very good one to have.
