figured I'd post something here.
is the gradient too overkill? Also, I understand the navigation isn't necessary because the height is small and the design is compact-- I just put it there for the full effect.

Dont use lobster, and it looks like a windows 8 style ripoff
The gradients are nice but should be more uniform, and yea don't use lobster
Yeah I would get rid of the gradient and work with a different color-scheme. Here are some good options; color.adobe.com (Go to "Explore")
And maybe resize the contact information
Huge amount of spacing errors, you need to allow more space when putting things closer to an edge.

Why does this have a lowered opacity, and the other not? If you did that so you can't scroll the other way, it's un-ergonomic.

This is just lazy.

I disagree with everything you just posted.
Can you please go in depth in where the spacing error is?

It's in inactive button, it shouldn't be the same white glow as the other one.

What's lazy about the alignment that I don't even think needs to be? I was more focused on the padding being the same on the navigation bar than anything. I don't think the alignment from the navigation bar and the body needs to be the same.

How could you disagree with everything i said?
I shouldn't need to go into more depth if you had any brain whatsoever.
shit spacing, shit alignment. Learn basics before you talk shit back, kid.

I'm not talking shit back, I'm asking you to explain what you're even saying.
I explained how I disagreed with everything

But you are being arrogant because everything I just told you was 100% right.

I'm being arrogant because I don't agree with what you said? I'm just asking you to back up what you've stated a little more and point it out more effectively. I just said why I don't think what you said was right, if you honestly care about giving critique respond to what I said and stop dicking around and getting angry. It's not necessary and makes you look like a toolbag.

Gradient is hugely overdone. You should only really use gradients to emphasise your key content (they should act as a focal) rather than just plastering them all over everywhere. The second one has a nicer colour scheme than the first, though.
Don't use Lobster. You need to develop a typographical system, too. You have different header/sub-header/body/call to action styles all over the place, and they need to be uniform.
Spacing is really, really whack. You've left tons of white space between 'Hey There' and its body, which means that there's more white space separating those two elements than separates the 'Hey There' text from the hero slider above it, which is a huge graphical no-no. Tbh, spacing everywhere is pretty dire. Develop uniform buffer distances, and stick to them.
Alignment needs work. I don't think right-aligning everything looks good. It's more professional to centre-align things and then expand out to the sides if you need the space. The stuff along the left margin doesn't look aligned from where I'm sitting.
The footer is also totally superfluous. If you're not going to do a proper one, then don't bother.

Actually, they do. Really, really well. You just need to do it properly.

"What's lazy about the alignment that I don't even think needs to be?"
i stated it in black and white.
fucking lazy.

Thank you, exactly what I was looking for.

Ahh I see, I'm still a design noob so it's good to know these things.
