Just curious on how people deface websites that don't use sql. Would like an explsnation and maybe a link to tutorial if it's not too much work. 🤝

I agree, but I have seen people deface things for good reasons. I'm just more curious than interested in doing it.

Anyway,with persistent XSS vulnerabilities.

They inject HTML code in the page using a vulnerable text field,like a search box

No,but the HTML code stays in the page and it's appearance changes to that of the deface HTML code.

Another use is to inject JS redirect code,drive by's etc.
