WARNING: This thread contains spoilers to the movie. If you haven't watched it yet, I recommend watching before viewing this discussion.
I know there's other threads, but this one is review oriented.
Here are my thoughts:
I thought the movie was OK.
There were a lot of funny moments, even though a couple of the jokes were too inappropriate.
Aside from that, there were some scenes that didn't really fit in with the movie. Sony could have done better editing on some of them.
The gore was a lot to handle. It was unnecessary for so many fingers to be bitten off and for the aide to Kim Jong Un to be shot in the head, etc.
James Franco's character was funny but irritating sometimes during the first half of the movie, there were parts where he overacted. But in the second half he toned it down and became much better.
As for Kim Jong Un (in the movie), there were times I felt sympathy for him, and times that showed his ruthless leadership. I know in real life though that he is more scary looking and would not be as open to "Dave Skylark" as he was to "Dennis Rodman".
But movies are not meant to be realistic. In a way I can see how North Korea would be offended by this. After seeing this movie, my thoughts on North Korea, is for America to mind it's own business and leave Kim Jong Un alone, after all they do have nukes and we don't want to be in conflict.
Overall I think it was a movie worth watching, there could have been improvements, but I'm glad it came out. Without the gore, I think the message would have been stronger and more professional.
I give it a 7.5 or 8 out of 10. Because it did make me laugh a lot of times and that's what comedies are for :)
Kinda agree with you quite a bit on this.
My Opinion
The only part I didn't like was the finger bit as well, It was a little over the top.
Again I actually felt sympathy for Kim. I know it's just a movie but it did really make me feel for him, But I had to keep reassuring myself about what they said at the beginning....
"Kim is a master of deception against the media" So that eased the sympathy a little.
But yeah, I agree with you a lot. I really enjoyed this movie, It's a good movie, I wouldn't say it was Absolutely 10/10 perfectly amazing but It's definitely in my top favorite movies :)
The god damn finger part was what ruined the movie.
Also the tiger getting hit in the head.

Just finished watching the movie and I personally do not really watch comedies, but I am glad I did watch The Interview.
At the end, when they were doing the interview, I believe it could of been a little better as biting fingers and a things going up in peoples arses? It was funny on the tiger bit but they re-did the joke and it was just simply not funny.
But I also believe that the movie was purposely made to cause to stir attention and honestly, it was a stupid idea to bully not only a leader of a country but the most infamous leaders in the world. I don't see people making movies about Obama and the Isis war?
In conclusion, it had crude and typical humor and it is a must watch. 7/10
"You got fucked by robocop" killed me. Ooh and the irony part.
I loved it. It was a silly parody, but I enjoyed it.

I like the movie overall. I give it 9/10 because the movie is 8/10 and plus + because your views on it fucking suck. "Leave Kim Jong Un alone" Umm no lmao hes a free powered totalitarian ruler with nukes. We shouldn't leave him alone. We need to get a B-3 to drop a 50 megaton hydro bomb on those motherfucking cunts. We should have wiped those cocksuckers out a long time ago.
EDIT: Also my own review kinda. The only thing I didn't like that the tiger getting killed. Poorly made part.
I think that you over analyzed the movie way to much OP. It was fucking hilarious. I do agree on the gore part though, was kind of just cringy.
I finished the movie, I thought it was really hilarious.
Was pretty funny in my opinion, I liked it.
I actually enjoyed the movie. Despite some "cheesy" jokes every once in a while, it was entertaining.
Seth Rogan and James Franco are 2 of my favorite actors, so right off the bat I had a bit of a bias. That aside, I still enjoyed the humor in the movie. Whether the humor be morbid (the finger, the tiger, the guy getting his head blown off in front of those kids), crude (The shuttle in the ass thing), or parody (Eminem or Kim Jong Un), it kept me laughing the entire time. I'll most likely end up buying it at some time.
I doubt I'll be seeing it. I don't especially enjoy Seth Rogen movies anymore.
It was actually a rather impressive movie coming from the fact that it's a stoner movie.
The movie was enjoyable some funny parts, overall it was stupid.
