Kill la Kill should be your next step, it has really over the top fighting scenes just like Gurren Lagann with a mix of comedy and also has really good OSTs. You're probably never going to find anything that tops Gurren Lagann, so, sorry to inform you, you've reached the pinnacle of the medium -- it'll only be downhill from here.
But yeah, like others said, the show most like TTGL is Kill La Kill.... Because it was made by the same people. Additionally, next season the studio (Trigger) is coming out with a new show that may be pretty good (it wasn't written by them, but I heard it has a very similar feel). Yoru no Yatterman is airing right now and it feels a little similar so far, although I can't guarantee that it will be good later into the show. I agree with Tedeschi. Akame ga kill is a really good anime! Good fighting scenes, comedy and more. Also, I haven't watched Gurren Laggan yet, but I saw the Genre's. I really do like the genere's involved. Anyway, if you like Gurren Laggan, choose Akame ga kill. You will love it if you liked Gurren.
