Not sure of the proper terms but I would like to have where when my

"AxShockwaveFlash1" is clicked it performs a task such as

You could check for the WndProc message that looks a little something like this

Check if your mouse is in the bounds of the flash object when you're checking for the message and then start your process.

Alright I figured out a weird but effective way.
I just used on MouseClickEvent and make it where i used shell to close out of the internet explorer process that opened
