[Windows Phone] Best apps, tweaks, etc. for new phone?

I just purchased my first Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia Icon and so far I am in love. I have an 8.1 tablet/2-in-1 so I wanted to have a phone to sync with all my data such as calendar and MS Office.

What are the best/essential/useful apps to have on WP? These can be hacking related, daily life, etc. With the enormous display I think I'm going to look into a VNC client and related tools.

Thanks for any advice :)

Um, from my previous uses of Windows Phone there doesn't seem to be any apps really worth downloading. I hate Windows Phones, but good luck!

With the 8.1 update and Lumia Denim (not to mention Windows 10 soon) I really enjoy the aesthetic appeal of the phone. It's very elegant in comparison to the rather bland iOS, or at least in my opinion. That aside, with WP being years newer than Apple or Android, I would expect it to be behind app wise, but it's catching up surely but slowly :)

Yes the app store is behind but people gotta realize it hasnt been out as long as android and ios.

the windows phone is fighting with giants in the smartphone market, I believe in the next few years we will no longer see any more Windows phones or blackberries. The app store has been limited for quite a few years now and still has not been able to get traction. That being said, the office applications work well when syncing with skydrive. One note and outlook were pretty seamless for me.
I love the windows phone. I am not that big of an app guy though, I like the basic functions to perform well and reliably. That being said, the office tools are great, one note, nokia camera apps are all good (they have the BEST phone cameras....take advantage of it), nokia mix radio...you can download your playlists for free...come on. 6tag, 6snap, etc are all the better instagram snapchat apps...better than the Android or iphone options by far. T-Translator is a good text translation app using the camera. And VGBA is a good gameboy emulator.
