Excluding malicious reasons, why do you want to learn how to hack?

Interested in your reasons for why you guys learn how to hack.
You can learn how to secure yourself or an organization. If you learn how to attack, you know how to defend.
Ethical hacking, you make a fuck load of money for pentesting etc, companies really fork out cash for this
To learn what is possible, to have the knowledge ability to protect myself, to understand different methods of both exploitation and secure coding, to be as knowledgeable about the 'internet' and it's flaws so I am not as vulnerable as 95% of people are. The internet is the future and a lot of people are blinded by pictures of cats and 'social networking' that they don't realize the program they just downloaded to play vegicrush also has a backdoor.
You know, computers are becoming huge things. You need to know how to do this stuff to protect yourself, profit, and other witty things.
To have more knowledge and to make ca$h
How do you go about making money from it? Do you need to get some kind of certificate then apply for a job at a company ?
Certificate with a degree might help yeah.
