Got Shortcut virus in phone's memory card after connecting to my friend's laptop

I connected my Nokia phone to my friend's laptop.

And now there is only one file present in MMC and it is called as Removable Disk (15 GB).inf

It opens fine in Windows, but not on phone.

I did some research and found out that it is autorun shortcut virus and I will have to run "autorun-exterminator" to remove it.

Is it a legit software?

More details here: http://en.kioskea.net/faq/8734-files-on-...-shortcuts

This software is from Microsoft. Can someone look at it and please confirm its safety?

Cant you hook the phone up to a laptop and scan the memory directory with Malwarebytes? that should remove the file if it is a windows based virus. I doubt it would execute on the Nokia anyway, the "virus" might have just detected removable storage and wrote some files to it. when it was plugged in.

I'm not great with this shit but I wouldn't advise this at all. It might damage the phones files since MB might not understand them and false positive essential files. Just my opinion though, I may be wrong.
What A Fuçking Tragedy
I have already done that and MalwareBytes found nothing. It was clean.

But can I use this autorun-exterminator?

If this were true, every time I would have plugged my rooted android device with full access to my files, would have been nuked. Also, when you plug in the phone you have the internal/SD card storage. I advised to scan the SD cardwhich acts as a storage area on the phone which should not contain critical OS files.

Either way, OP responded with that being done and no issue has arisen.

OP, I am not sure if that software might be a solution...me personally, if I have confirmed that was a virus...I would remove the SD card...put it into an external card reader....run DBAN, format back to FAT32(if not already) and then use it....kill it...kill it with fire.
Your friend's PC is sure to be infected one & s/he might not be running any good AntiVirus Program and have autorun turned on.
The software you mentioned "autorun-exterminator" seems not to be any use & I'm telling this w/o even looking at the software itself.
Because you've already got the infection and that needs to scanned and removed w/ good antivirus program(s) and "autorun-exterminator" I think would just won't let any autorun.inf to run on the system and nothing to w/ the problem you have.
Also while scanning w/ AV scan both the INTERNAL & EXTERNAL storages.
& one last thing you should be running AV program on your Nokia Phone as well if its a windows phone,& if its Java or Symbian one you can have your phone flashed as well.
