This deserves a sticky. Excellent tutorial wolf, we need more threads like this!
Haha ;) Thank you for the compliment! I appreciate it.

How does it deserve a sticky? All it does is show you how to Show & Hide a form. It also has a lot of unnecessary text.

Also, Whit3W0lf, please say what your tutorial is going to do, instead of saying it is to create a "Simple Program".
But that's exactly what it is? A simple program and it shows more then just how to hide a form. The "unnecessary" text is me elaborating how it works and what it does.
Don't you have to create a new instance of a form before showing it? or does vb handle it different; I don't use vb.

I would say renaming your thread to "how to hide a form" would be a more straight forward name. People that want to hide their forms would search that and find this instead of "Simple Program Tutorial".

There you go again.

"Simple Program" means nothing. "Showing and Hiding Forms" at least gives an idea on what the tutorial is about.

The reason for many of VB's traits like this is related to the saying: "Old habits die hard". Default form instances were actually added back into VB because of all the old <VB6 programmers being so stubborn (Don't quote me on that, I'm a little rusty on my history but it's definitely a carry-over). You can explicitly declare and create a form instance, but it's done for you in VB should you decide not to.
Well thanks for the opinions everyone.

Thanks for clearing that up Odus, I didn't actually know that.
