I had DarkComet working multiple times flawlessly. NO-IP shut down my DNS a few times, and I took a while off before even trying to use it again.
I set everything up like I did the previous times, except this time, when I had folks open my stub, nobody shows on my connections list.
I tried the trial version of NanoCore (which is a really nice app and I'd like to give it a good run on the full version if I can debug this issue), and I had the same results. I can see myself, but I cannot see anyone else or a VM.
I have my ports set and forwarded to my IPv4 address. (192.168.0.69). This is NOT my routers address. I also have the port forwarded on my VPN. I have success on "CanYouSeeMe" on my landline and VPN both.
I've had multiple friends try to help me by opening my stub, unencrypted, and nobody ever shows on my clients between both programs. I have tried a stub from each. As previously stated, I've also tried both stubs on a VM with no success either.
Can anybody think of something that could have changed from before? I had success with DC prior to this, and years ago, but to my knowledge, I haven't changed any settings since then, and building a new stub should have worked flawlessly. Now I have open ports but no connections.
Please help!
I provide Rat Set Up services if you want me to do the set up for you check out my siggy. Pretty sure you either did something incorrect with ports,dns/ip, or firewall issues. Also it's called Nano Core >_>
Thanks for noticing that correction. I don't know why I called it NovaCore, lol.
I've set up a ton of these and I'm sure I have all the proper settings. I've gone back over them and beyond quadruple checked them for the past week non stop. Maybe there is a stopped service I need or something? Something is very off, and I don't know what else to try.
I have tried fresh installs of DC and the latest version of NanoCore.
If you have any other suggestions, though, I'd be happy to hear them. Thanks for your time.
Just take it step by step and troubleshoot the issue. Sometimes it can help using a network sniffer to see exactly where the connection is going wrong.
First things first make sure 100% that the ports are forwarded, this is the simplest part but honestly the most overlooked.
You've stated you tried fresh installs with the same results so it's not the programs, it's something on your end or your ISPs.
- Have you correctly setup your stub to successfully connect using your DNS?
- Is your DNS updated?
- If you are using a VPN or VPS are they setup with correct port forwarding aswell?
- Have you created an exception in your windows firewall to allow the specified ports and all connections on those ports through?
- Is your friend using an antivirus that is corrupting the file before it is executed (THIS HAPPENS ALOT, even when they turn it off).
- Does your friend have a firewall blocking outgoing connections on certain ports?
- If you are using a crypter (which you aren't, but worth mentioning anyway) is it corrupting your file?
There are many many issues that could pop up, maybe your ISP blocks the use of port forwarding and you have to rely solely on your VPN etc etc.
Good Luck.

I have the ports forwarded correctly to the router.
- Have you correctly setup your stub to successfully connect using your DNS? The stub is pointed properly to the DNS without any typos or anything.
- Is your DNS updated? I'm using No-IP for the test, and I have DUC on my computer. I double checked at the No-IP website, and the DNS is pointing to the VPN address.
- If you are using a VPN or VPS are they setup with correct port forwarding aswell? The ports are forwarded on my VPN's Port Forwarding Page.
- Have you created an exception in your windows firewall to allow the specified ports and all connections on those ports through? My Windows Firewall is turned off. Do I need exceptions with it turned off?
- Is your friend using an antivirus that is corrupting the file before it is executed (THIS HAPPENS ALOT, even when they turn it off). I will have to look back into this. I'm sure he does.
- Does your friend have a firewall blocking outgoing connections on certain ports? This might be an issue as well. I will check this as well.
- If you are using a crypter (which you aren't, but worth mentioning anyway) is it corrupting your file? Correct, I haven't used the crypter yet. I'm trying to get the uncrypted stub to work first, and if it corrupts after the crypter, I'll deal with that at that point. I need my vanilla stub to work first, because if its not working without a crypter, it won't be working with one, either.
I have two IPv4's for my computer. One is from a Local Area Connection, and the other is on a Wireless Adapter. I've tried with both of them individually, but maybe I need to forward ports to both addresses at the same time??
When I try to do that, it says the ports are conflicting. If anyone knows if this could be a problem, or if they know how to port forward to two IPs, please let me know.
You can't port forward to two IP addresses.
Ok. Well I've also tried to use uTorrent to allow connections but that didn't work either.
I have success on CanYouSeeMe.
Im having an issue also. Maybe i can get a little help here. I set up nanocore. I tested it with my vm and i connect. But my friend who runs the file on his comp no connection. My setup seems right. Vpn with ports forwarded and can be seen with canyouseeme. Ports forwarded on router. And when i use my vm i connect thu 3g hotspot off my home network. Had my friend kill av's and firewall but still no connect. Am i missing somthing?

Nanocore is old and outdated. Use a different rat.
