What is an ultrabook? Are they better than laptops?

[elemein]

Ultrabooks is simply a specification coined by Intel.

The current Ultrabooks standard is:

Ultrabooks are simply laptops that fit those standards in addition to being designated as an Ultrabook by Intel. Nowadays however, the Ultrabook specification is not used very often due to the fact it wasn't a very successful specification (the books themselves sold well, but the premium paid for the specification wasn't welcomed.)

There have been no Ultrabooks released since 2013. Intel has pretty much dropped the specification in favour of the "2 in 1" or "convertible" specification which has no licensing associated.
