Chipset question?

So recently the chipset on my laptop broke, so brought it to a computer repair shop because i know i don't have the tools or the knowledge to fix that problem. They gave me 2 solutions
1) replace the motherboard for 200$ with a 100% chance of it getting fixed
2) try to fix the chipset for 100$ with a 60% of it getting fixed.
What would you guys recommend i do?

The laptop that broke: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ABE3...UTF8&psc=1

Thanks in advance for the help
Or buy the mobo for $82 and replace it yourself? :D

Is not so hard to replace mb from a laptop. The complicate part is to put it back an no screw will remain extra.
See on youtube if is a tutorial for your model on how to change the mb.

I would go with replacing the chipset, As you did say it is the chipset that is broke and not the Mobo.
I don't think people realize how hard it is to solder a modern chipset. Also, there is no guarantee that solder will last a long time. Get an used motherboard off Ebay from a seller with high positive rating. Replace yourself, or hire somebody to do for you.
just replace the mb,it not that hard look up youtube for a Disassembly video for you laptop.
