Icons on desktop wont go

So, im not sure if this is to do with a virus or not but recently i did a check up, and it said 5 or 6 malware was found, so I got them removed, i think.

But after that, my photoshop stopped working, it just wont open, and when i delete an icon off my desktop it stays there as a background icon.

Any ideas what this could be? Should I try restoring my computer or just completely clearing it, which i might do anyway, but I just need some ideas as to what could be causing my desktop to do this.
As for your Photoshop if you are using a cracked one, the .dll probably got deleted.
I am assuming you are using the one by ChingLiu.

As for the icons, Click on Start button, type Run in the search bar and then type ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache
I tried that and nothing happened. Any other help on it?
That's weird I've never seen anything like this, have you used tcp view to see if you're ratted?

I've just installed it now but i've no idea how to use it lmao. it's come up with a screen and it's got green and red highlights going across it.

You can also try using CCleaner. It has an option to fix dead shortcuts and stuff.

Pretty self explanatory, just check for any unknown ip's coming into your pc it with it, ignore the HTML ip's. If you see an ip that is unkown just trace it.
I'm not sure if you've restarted yet, but that would probably fix the issue. I'll take a look anyway.

Download OTL.exe by OldTimer to your Desktop.
  • Close all windows and double click OTL.exe.

  • Click Run Scan and let the program run uninterrupted.

  • It will produce two logs for you, one will pop up - OTL.txt, the other will be saved on your Desktop - Extras.txt. Post both logs in this thread.

  • You may need to use two posts to get it all.
