Easiest Way To Count The Lines In A Program

What would be the easiest way to count the total amount of lines in a program?
Use the function in your IDE to find this number or just add up the number of lines in each file.
do you mean before it's compiled (source lines)? or of the actual program (after it's compiled).
Use a line counter like http://cloc.sourceforge.net/
Or use my program, designed in Java.
Check my threads.
Netbeans with maven already offers this feature. Code coverage.
JavaProphet made a good program for this. Should check it out.
Any IDE should come with this option. If you tell me your IDE, I can specify how to turn on the line numbers. If using VM/VIM type :set number
