AA Weekly is looking for dedicated and willing writers, proofreaders, interviewers and more! This is NOT a job for someone who will quit after a week, writing an article every week can be stressful, not only that but it needs to be perfect. Posted this in Anime adventures as I'm looking for frequent AA members.
Anime Adventures Weekly is a weekly news article posted every week within Anime Adventures. Starting back in 2011, we have been going strong since are in need for extra writers to help with the running of the news. This is for those that are fans of anime, manga and the Japanese culture (obviously) so please don't apply if you are not familiar with these things.
Due to a reshuffle of the team we're recruiting again and for a new group of dedicated writers willing to follow a schedule and work to make AA a better and more fun place! Please read the recruitment sections below and follow the instructions.
The positions that need filling currently are:
Anime News
This role is about writing the Headlines; the little bit that goes right at the top of the news, every week. It is important to be knowledgeable within anime and have a good understanding of the anime industry. You will gather news from different sources then compile these into the headlines you see. Good English and grammar is needed for this role, with the ability to source information.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role.
Manga News
This role is about writing the Headlines; the little bit that goes right at the top of the news, every week. It is important to be knowledgeable within manga and have a good understanding of the manga industry. You will gather news from different sources then compile these into the headlines you see. Good English and grammar is needed for this role, with the ability to source information.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role.
Japanese News
This role is about writing the Headlines; the little bit that goes right at the top of the news, every week. It is important to be knowledgeable about Japan and keep up with all the latest happenings. You will gather news from different sources then compile these into the headlines you see. Good English and grammar is needed for this role, with the ability to source information.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role.
Anime Adventures News
This role is dedicated to those that post regularly within AA and who can keep a track of what quality threads are being made. Similar to the "notable threads" section in HF News, you are required to compile interesting discussions, reviews and 'fun' threads within the section.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role.
Visual Novel of the Week
This position is looking for one extra person to fill the gap. Every other week you will need to play then review a VN. This one can be one of the toughest roles due to the sheer time investment a VN can take, so please be passionate about this role when applying.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role, any experiences with VN and your current English level (on a scale of 1-10).
Interviewer x2
Every week you will be required to interview one member of HF, asking them relevant questions about themselves and about anime/manga (whether they enjoy it or not). This position requires on the spot thinking and the dedication to go out and find people to interview.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role, and a test interview with someone of your choosing.
Proofreader
As Proofreader you will need to be available every Saturday/Sunday as you will be proofreading any submitted articles on the AA Weekly forums. A good English level is required.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role.
Art Curator
Art curators will each week take in fan art by readers and compile these into a small graphic showing each members work. An example of this can be seen in HF News. Although readers art should come firs, if you don't receive enough each week you must also be resourceful enough to go out and find fan art of your own that you like.
Please PM me if you want to apply for this role.
Graphic Artists
AA Weekly is always on the lookout for talented graphic artists who are willing to help keep the design of AA Weekly fresh by creating graphics for the news. Whether this be the headers you see each week, or a special themed logo. If you want to help please apply by sending myself a PM with any past work or a portfolio and we can discuss things over.
This is not a demanding job where I ask for new graphics each week, so don't worry. We often keep graphics for 1-2 months before doing a small change over. Thank you.
Feel like something is missing from the AA Weekly news?
Want to start a new section. PM me any suggestions you have and we can discuss getting it added! For a past example of the news, click
here.
Any previous member who was apart of the news team can send me a message and get fast-tracked but there will be a new system in place and no more lackadaisical deadlines. We will begin working to a proper schedule in a proper way.
If anyone has any further questions ask away on the thread and me or another member apart of the team will answer!
