Hi,
I am looking to hire a developer to complete the following task:
Provide me with a script or executable written in any language that interfaces with Windows explorer to completely hide or show a window. This includes disabling/enabling sound. It should be compatible with modern versions of windows.
The program should have a command line interface and take the following arguments:
<process name(regex string)/ process ID> <mode (HIDE/SHOW)> <process type (RUNNING/NEW)>
The arguments in detail:
process name/id:
Either a name of a process as a regex (to allow wildcard matching, ect.) or a process id – can match more than one process when searching for RUNNING processes.
mode:
HIDE- Hides the process's windows/disable sound
SHOW- Shows the process's windows/enable sound
process type:
RUNNING- Only loops the running processes while searching. Exits if not matches are found.
NEW- Idles and only searches new processes as they start, while ignoring already running processes. This would only be compatible with the process name search, but it's not a big deal to leave it enabled with PID searches for simplicity
When the program finds and matches (a) process(es), it hides the window(s), disables sound and writes the PID to stdio(console/cmd window)- one process ID per line.
If the program is running in NEW mode, it will only match the first process found, then print the PID and quit. When running in NEW mode it would be ideal to intercept the process before it gets to display a window.
The program's command syntax is not important, you may parse the arguments/flags however you like.
If you have any questions or need clarification on any of the points, please PM me.
