On August 20XX, a gate suddenly appears in Tokyo's Ginza district, unleashing a portal where monsters, medieval knights and other fantasy beings come from another world and wreak havoc on Tokyo. The Japanese Defense Force take action against these monsters and push them back into the "Gate". Third Reconnaissance Team is dispatched to the "Special Region" lead by officer (and otaku) Youji Itami. On their travels, they are joined by a beautiful elf girl who is a survivor from the dragon's rampage and guide the group across the dangerous new world.

The first episode has been released on : http://www.animezero.tv/shows/243-gate/s.../episode/1

What do you think of the first episode so far ?

I haven't seen the first episode yet but I read the synopsis and it looks like it will be very interesting.

Do you know if this has a source material or is it original? I like knowing if there's a source since
I enjoy reading.

The manga version, if that's what you meant by source material.

I watched the first episode today and it was alright. It seems like it will be interesting later on. Also heard good reviews of the manga.

Just watched the first episode. Curious to see how the MC will turn out since he looks pretty laid-back.

Just watched Episode 1. Pretty good, though a little different from the manga.

If this ends up being anything like the manga then you are all in for a treat! ^^
