FAQ: Noob Hacking!

Hello. I've noticed multiple threads appear in this section within the last few hours consisting of questions like...
Where Do I Start? && Tips For Noobs?
I will try my best to answer the things that are commonly asked by new members and provide some tips to new members. I strongly suggest giving this quick read before asking others to help.

General Tips on HackForums

Tip 1: Please read the help documents if you have not!
HackForums does not tolerate Blackhat activity and you cannot ask for reputation, it is earned at other members discretion. Also stay away from posting adult links and images on threads.
Tip 2: Please use correct grammar and spelling when posting threads.
Tip 3: Do not beg for free mentoring, assistance, teaching and/or guidance.
There are members who will be willing to help you, but do not beg for free services.
Tip 4: You will not learn to hack overnight.

Question 1: Where Do I Start?

There are two things that other members and I frequently recommend.
1: Learn how to hide yourself online, There are multiple different ways to do this, if you have questions feel free to PM me or reply to ask for help.
2: This is what I always suggest and what was suggested to me, Learn a coding language. (You can learn how to use remote administration and keylogging tools, but at the end of the day you are just using a program that is accessible to almost anyone.) The language that you should learn changes from person to person based on the interest of that person. I always recommend if you have a friend who is knowledgeable in a programming language, you should attempt to learn the language they know.
Languages that I see that are recommended often are include; Python, Java, C++ , C#. There are plenty more but I don't see them frequently recommend by other members.

(There are many other things you should look into and attempt to grasp the basic concepts. I've seen people suggest looking into Networking/Antivirus Programs/Web based languages. (There is a lot of different paths but I and personally recommend coding.)

Question 2: What is a RAT?

RATs are short for Remote Administration Tool! RATs allow a remote operator to control a system as if he has physical access to that system.
RATs are illegal when installed without the victim's knowlege
Once a RAT is installed it provides the operator the follow capabilities:
*Computer Control
*Hardware Destroy
*Shell Control
*Screen/Camera or Image Control
*File management
*Edit registry
*Use internet connection to perform DoS attacks
*Drop viruses and worms
*Steal Passwords
*Play sounds
*Shutdown/Restart the computer
*Log Keystrokes
There are many more, but I'm sure you get the idea, Different RATs have different features
I will not recommend a specific RAT to any user, because there are multiple popular ones on HF and I currently do not RAT, however if you are interested in RATs, There are multiple threads that explain the differences. Do not expect to get a decent RAT for free.

Question 3: Anything related to hacking at school!

These threads do not pop up as frequently but they come around sometimes.
Other members and I strongly suggest members to stay away from attempting to infect school computers or changing their grades. If you need to ask HackForums for instructions for such actions, your probably are going to get caught.

I will continue working on this thread, as I see questions come up, Please feel free to reply or PM for any questions you may have.

Great post - thank you, hard to come by such a simple intro.

I've been reading a few different posts like this and Python gets recommended a lot, but so does HTML which you didn't mention above - was wondering what you thought of that and if there was a reason to leave it out?
thanks for your work, it will help me for shure
Nice post, poof. Foster the newbies.

HTML isn't a programming language, but it is extremely useful for inspecting web pages for script elements and other web-based vulnerabilities. HTML injection is still a persistent problem on many systems that can result in full access to a web server, which, in fact, just recently did for one of my latest clients. However, this is a rare and unusual case.

HTML is useful to know, yes. But don't treat it as a programming language. It's simple and easy to learn, but there is little you can do with it as a hacking tool.

Yeah, I've been around a while
If you have any questions, I can go answer via PM, or include them in the thread. I will be using this for reference when I see these questions pop up in this section.

Thanks! Makes sense and appreciate the reply
Thanks so much for pointing me toward the first stepping stones. After reading around a bit I realized that learning to code was going to be a necessity if I'm to take learning how to hack seriously, which I fully intend on dedicating myself to doing. I'm running Ubuntu so Java's going to be my first to learn. Again, thanks OP.

Why don't you two do it? 😅

What if you're not doing anything illegal, why would you need to hide yourself online?
