Hello. I have an iMac (2008) that I intend to sell. It has a corrupted OS installation and thus needs re-installing. I would like to do this before selling as it has some other problems I'd like to try and troubleshoot beforehand. Unfortunately I do not have the Apple ID diggery doo it requires when attempting to re-install OSX via the safe boot menu.
I read that snow leopard doesn't ask for said ID and made a bootable USB but it says "OSX can't be installed on this machine". I've defiantly formatted the hard disk appropriately.
If I do not have the ID or any retail discs, how might I install any release of OSX on it?
