Which is better to have on a low specs laptop?
The laptop is:

And please give reasons, thanks. Only people who know what the fuck they're talking about.

I recommend Panda Cloud Antivirus over Windows Defender.
Windows Defender is good for normal web surfing for a user who doesn't have much knowledge of computers. But Panda AV is one of the top notch free AVs you can get with excellent detection rate and I wouldn't depend on protection from a PC built-in protection.
Never used Windows defender, but Panda AV doesn't use up much from your PC unlike Norton.
Hope this helped in a way.

I'll consider it. Waiting for a couple more responses before I make my decision, but thank you.

I don't think the processor would be fast enough.
The computer you are looking at runs celeron, and it requires pentium or faster.
You might have to just use windows defender.

And where is the info/link to back up your claim?

Oh wait nevermind, screwed up my conversions.
I would say that it would be fine to use over windows defender.
What are you going to use the computer for?

Mostly for writing documents and browsing. That's it.

panda wins.
Uh, either I'm blind or I don't see Defender on there?
And which wins in terms of lightweightness?

Windows Defender is more lightweight plus considering it is the default security application. If you have common sense and know to user other security software and things then you should be good to go. (Malwarebytes, herdProtect, or something else...)
... but then again you can avoid using all of those and use something like ToolWiz Time Freeze

You don't see Defender on there, because it's not effective compared to the vast majority of modern antiviruses.
The 'improved' version of Windows Defender is "Microsoft Security Essentials" but it still has the same issue.
I'd prefer having panda cloud personally.
However, if you do want a microsoft solution then just get MSE http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...s-download
Neither are antiviruses. Seriously. The first line of defense, the best line of defense, is your own brain.

Yea, and what happens when your brain isn't enough?
It helps to have a 2nd opinion from an antivirus.

Well yes, obviously, but I want one or the other.
