Need Manga Recommendations: Life Experience, Feels, Plot

Alright 🙂

Since I already have a main thread for Anime recommendations (before you judge, it was created way before the two threads above were stickied, don't blame me!) I thought that it would be a good idea to create one for Manga. Since reading Nozoki Ana (God bless this Manga), I got more into reading them and I need some good recommendations. I've read tons of Manga when I was younger, but never really finished any of them, and I forgot about a lot of them so I can't update MyAnimeList list properly.

http://myanimelist.net/mangalist/Aura_

Any Manga that is remotely close to what Nozoki Ana is, I'll read it right away so there's that. Otherwise what I'm looking for is:
  • School, Ecchi (it's funny), Harem, Slice of Life, Supernatural, Magic, etc: Not all of these together obviously, but the more the better I guess. I like Manga where in the end a character will grow (emotionaly, psychologicaly, etc.) so Manga that goes through the whole high school period of a MC for example will get my attention;

  • The Manga needs to be finished: I'll still check out all the recommendations even if the Manga is still on-going, but I like to read them in one-go and not have to wait for releases;

  • If the Manga have an Anime (adaptation), I would like to know if the Anime is worth watching first, and if so, I'll do it and let me know what volumes/chapters it covers, so I can continue with the Manga after;

  • I don't really have any restrictions for the number of volumes or chapters to be honest. I would like to keep it around 100-150 but like I said, I'll give all of them a look, no matter how many volumes/chapters they have;

  • I won't read Manga from pre-2000, maybe even pre-2005, this is debatable;

  • I like Manga with a good plot and good art obviously;

Once again, sorry to put all my conditions in your face, but you guys are usually really good at recommending stuff I like/look for so I trust you. If you need any more specifications on what I'm looking for, let me know and I'll try to be more precise 🙂

Thank you once again AA!

Read Velvet Kiss since you enjoyed Nozoki Ana.
Just read the whole thing. It was really good and quite similar to Nozoki Ana (in the same spirit) so I enjoyed it.

Thank you, if you have any more recommendations, feel free to post them here 🙂

You can read something in a day that would take me weeks lol. Try Hetakoi, it's pretty similar but I liked it a lot more for some reason.

This.

Velvet Kiss is on my top 10 for Manga. Really powerful story, with lots of H scenes wink wink.
Well I used to be a really big reader, so I can read really fast. And when I'm interesting in something, I do it until I finish lol. I'll give Hetakoi a look 🙂

And yes, Velvet Kiss is now in my Top 5 as well (since I didn't finish a lot of other Manga anyway but it might stay there for a while).

Mahou Sensei Negima? 2003-2012, fully complete. Even has a continuation called "UQ Holder!" which is currently ongoing.

Plenty of chapters to burn through (355+), anime isn't worth watching unfortunately.

Fits all your desired genre tags with a bit of a caveat.. the MC is the teacher not the student.

Id say the art style is pretty great for its time:

I finished Mahou Sensei Negima. It's the first Manga I've ever read and it'll forever stay my Top 1. I just love it. I didn't even know that UQ Holder! existed but you can be damn sure that it's the next one I read. Right now, I'm reading Domestic na Kanojo but once I finish it (or hit the latest translated chapter), I'll get going on UQ Holder!.

Amazing suggestion, thank you!

Hikaru no go! even though it is older it is a must read/watch. 20/21 volumes are watchable via anime/special. 23 volumes are available through manga. It is a completed series, and somehow it just makes you keep wanting to watch(i watched it all, then completed the rest via manga because i was that into the story). Even though it is about a board game called Go! and older don't let that put you off, it is really worth watching or reading; also the aspect of Sai - a ghostly figure that helps the MC hikaru play the whole time yet no one else is aware makes it so much more intresting; and IMO at some points psychological / cliffhangers.

It's very strange how such a anime/manga can keep your attention so much.

If you enjoyed Mahou Sensei Negima then i recommend Love Hina. It's by the same author, however there is no focus really on action. It's slice of life / harem / ecchi
Hikaru no go! might be a bit too old for me, but I'll still check it out, thanks! 😝

And I know about Love Hina, but back then that kind of story didn't interest me, though my tastes have changed today so I'll have to re-check it.

Thanks!

More recommendations please! It looks like I just can't come across some Manga that would satisfy my nightly reading sessions before falling asleep 😟
