Cmd not running any commands

Since I updated to Windows 10 I haven't been able to check ping, run netstats or anything like that. The only command that seems to work it "exit" and that's not exactly useful to me. Is this something to do with another program, the update changing things, or something entirely different? Thanks.

Have you tried creating a .bat in the windows directory?
IE:
Code
ping google . com
pause
Save as a .bat in desktop.

Your path variable is missing C:\WINDOWS\system32\

You can edit PATH variable on Windows 10 like this

Log in with Administrator priviledges.
Right-click "My Computer" & select "Properties."
Click "Advanced" tab.
Click "Environment Variables" button.
In the "System variables" box, scroll down to "PATH" and highlight it.
Click the "Edit" button.
In the "Variable value:" box, add to the very beginning of the text "C:\WINDOWS\system32;" without my quotation marks.
Make sure you include the semicolon.
Click OK three times.
No reboot required. If this was your problem, then ipconfig should work right away.
Try running cmd as administrator.

Kudos to you for that suggestion. It's like if you go to install jdk, you need to add the env. variables.

Nice to see members with low post counts, but know a thing or two. Keep it up!
