Dropped PS4 controller in sink.

Lol. Man the fucking PS4 only ships with one controller and shit. So I have this little kid at my house and he loves to break things. I take my controller in the bathroom with me but I rested it by the sink. Little did I fucking know the sink was full of water. So I got done pissing and look in the mirror at my face at my eyebrow piercing. It's a little swollen so I look closer and bam. It slipped in the water. I brushed it off AND go back to playing gta online. Next thing you know. It starts doing all kind of shit out of my control.

And now it's just done. I'm stuck at the "press the ps button to use the controller." message. 🤦‍♂ GG BRUH LMAO
That fucking sucks, but I have a one-up.

Christmas (or birthday). My mom got me a DS Lite Zelda eddition, nice and gold and shit. I was loving it, but I got up to piss. Had the DS in the middle pocket of my sweatshirt, while I was peeing that shit dropped the fuck out and right into the toilet. Shit smelled like pee and everything, it was done and I was so sad.

But yeah, a controller's bad too.
If you have rice put it in a bucket of rice preferably white rice and in 24 hours blowdry it and it'll work. Sounds weird but I did that for my Xbox controller and phone and iPad it works. You may want to disamble it for best results
Lol! It just turned back on now but it's doing things by itself. Can't log in. Lmao.

I was thinking about this but. Lol. Does the rice + blowdryer thing even work?

Do as I mentioned I promise it'll fix your controller. They cost a lot nowadays. If you do what I mentioned you'll have your controller back

EDIT: Yes it works 100% rice will absorb ANY water on controller and fix everything and blow dryer is to get the dust off controller that rice will leave it won't affect the controller if you leave it

I'll try it but man if it doesn't work I'll have to fork out $50 for a New one later or some shit. Thanks bro.

trust me it will work , hopefully you pressing buttons didn't allow any extra water in the motherboard if you dissemble it and get as much rich touching inside the controller your in good luck

Can't get a hold of such a small screwdriver tonight tho. Will try later lol.
I promise the rice method will get everything wet completely dry again. If your girl wants the d but you have to finish that CoD prestige marathon just put her in a bathtub of rice and you're good to go. Tested this method and 10/10 works every time. I now have no girlfriend but it definitely worked!

You can disassemble the controller and clean it with cotton swabs (alcohol) and afterwards put that shit in rice, guaranteed to work again.

I've seen people in my house hold drop their phone in water tons of times and when ever the method above is done to it, it works afterwards without any problems, so i don't see why it wouldn't work with a controller.

good luck op

Do you have some video on how to? Or?

Should I disassemble first and then proceed to put in rice and after 24 hours blowdry? I just need some steps.

Nothing worse than a damaged pad, even if the analogue is off a little I can't play.

I know it will get everything dry but I need to know if this is worth trying lol. I don't want to waste time waiting for it only to take it out and it's still fucked. When I mean it fell in the sink. For about 1 second fully submerged in water. It's turning on. I can get certain buttons to work but others are doing whatever they want. Like sometimes the L1 won't work. But then I take it off. Restart. L1 works now but R1 doesn't. edit: Lmao! Wait Wtf.
Unscrew it and blow dry it. Screw it back together and bury it with rice. Happened to me before but not in a sink.
