As some may have noticed the site has had some downtime and errors the past 2-3 days due to some configuration difficulty I was having with new firewall trigger settings.

Essentially we have layer-7 ddos prevention at both the Nginx and the Apache level.

But this can cause a conflict with browser userscripts like HFES. Basically those scripts will do multiple page GETs to load it's features. By doing so risk triggering a ddos protection configuration. In such cases you may be blocked for 10-30 minutes.

So I am suggesting you are indeed repeatedly blocked that you start disabling HFES or other userscript features and wait for your temporary block to lift.

I've been using HFES for a long time now and have yet to experience any issues with the site.
I'll be sure to disable the userscript if I ever have any issues. Thanks for informing us.

I never use userscripts, because HF is fine without makeup.

This might cause an issue for me seeing I use three different userscripts for HF.

If I start to run into issues with them though I'll obviously disable them.
Ability to browse HF > Ability to use userscripts

Userscript developers need to keep this in mind when creating for HF.

I firmly believe userscripts are a great way for members to interact with the site and learn coding at the same time.
