Forgot how to encrypt WPA password

I'm just playing around with Kali and tried out to crack a WPA encrypted network password.
Must be 2 years since when i did it the first time and it worked within 5 minutes.

But somehow i forgot how i did it or i might have some memories of how i did it that are wrong.

So...i got a handshake within a few seconds. Stored everything in a "capture.ivs" file.
And now...as far as i remember i did not use any wordlist back then, cause i went through all my wordlist files and couldn't find anything that matches the password which i set up as "ab12cd34ef".
Generating a custom wordlist out of this chars/numbers would end up in a file, which is 30Gb big. I'm pretty sure i didn't do that.

I remember that aircrack was working and showing me all those hex numbers and within a few seconds the password was encrypted.

But how? I'm pretty sure i never used a wordlist to get that PW...just a simple command.
My memory might trick me here and i'm completely wrong.
But on the other hand...i cracked a few other WPA passwords back then, and it never took me any longer than 5 minutes.

I googled, i searched Hackforums and now im here ❓
