I was just bored and looking at the bans page, and I notice that sometimes a user will be banned for a month or two and it will say "Your account is CLOSED" but the user will still only be "exiled" but then some users will have their account say "closed" with the grayed out username. I was just wondering what the difference between these were? Do the exiled users' accounts turn closed once the ban is up? Stupid question but I'm just curious. Thanks!

Exiled just seems more harsh but what do i know 😝 (Jan 27, 2016 09:59 PM)minimalist Wrote: Those accounts are pending closure. You'll see them listed on the HF News editions with this tag. Accounts that have a ban reason including "account closed" will turn into closed accounts once the actual ban itself is completed (expiry time) (Jan 27, 2016 10:17 PM)Light Wrote: Accounts that have a ban reason including "account closed" will turn into closed accounts once the actual ban itself is completed (expiry time) What's the point of a ban if it's going to be closed anyways?

I believe that Omniscient wants the users to have time to see the reason to why they're no longer welcome back to the forum before the account gets actually closed. Because when they try and log in as "exiled", they can see the reason to their ban that is on the bans.php page. As the user above mentioned so they can see the reason, however exiled group is usually temporary and not a permanent ban.
