Adding MyAlerts to a Template

Hey guys.

So I tried Googling this to no avail. I was curious how to add the "Alerts" tab to any theme? I've seen it on the default theme and considered just copying everything from the MyAlerts section from the default theme to the new theme, but I wasn't sure if that'd work.

Would appreciate the help. Thanks guys!
Moving on in life in such a way that doesn't include HF. HF allowed me to get into the security field and peaked my interest: I appreciate everyone's time, effort, and encouragement. If for some reason you have a means to message me outside HF, feel free to, but I won't be coming back.
Deactivate and reactivate the plugin and it'll appear on your new theme. If this doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall from the ACP.

I did that and there was no change. It shows in the User CP, which it always has, but there's no button in the header to check alerts - that's what I'm on about. 😝 Thanks for the help though!

Off the top of my head, if I remember rightly, the correct variable that should be in your header is <myalerts_headericon>. If the issue persists, a link to your forum will be needed for me to be of any help.

You can always add a icon to the welcome block template called Alerts

heres a source code:
Code
<a href="/alerts.php"><i class="fa fa-bell> Alerts</i></a>
You can add span elements to make it float right on the welcome block, etc.

It is {$myalerts_headericon}
