Basic and noob friendly Android Rooting Guide

Basic and noob friendly Android Rooting Guide - Don D Guides

After I recently learned this quick and easy way to root your device I thought id write up a little guide for you people here on HF. :)

Theres a couple of easy quick steps you need to go through before we can start.
First you need to enable USB debugging, to do this you need to enable Developer settings on your phone. In order to do this, you need to head over to Settings>System>About and tap on the "Build-number" exactly 7 times, this will open new settings tab under Settings>System>About called "Developer Options" now go in there and enable "USB Debugging".

After youve enabled USB Debuggin you need a program called Odin which can be downloaded from the developers official site here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthre...?t=2711451
And then you need a Chainfire auto root file for your specific smartphone model (CTRL+F to search for your model): https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/
VERY IMPORTANT: Make sure that the version you download from chainfire suits your phone (check Android version, Build number and model number).

How to see build and mode number:
Go to Settings>System>About and check the Model, Android version and Build number.

Now you are ready to root your phone, so follow these easy steps and you should have your android device rooted in no time!

Step 1. Turn off your device.

Step 2. Open Odin on your computer.

Step 3. Now you need to put your android device into "Download mode", in order to do this you need to press volume down, home and power button down at the same time by starting with Volume Down>Home>Power and then when you get to the screen as shown below you need to press volume op to actually enter download mode. (Having trouble with this then go to YouTube, plenty tutorials there)

Step 4. Plug your device into the PC via usb cable and Odin should automaticly come with a message saying "Added" like below, this means were ready to next step.

Step 5. Now you need to press "AP" and locate the Chainfire auto root file you downloaded earlier.

Step 6. Now hit "Start" button, and it should automaticly start and begin operating on your phone. It will come with a PASS message when done, this usually takes under a minute and it should automaticly reboot your phone. It should look something like this:

Now to check if you acutally rooted your android you can open it up and head to Apps tap and see if SuperSU app is there. Another way to do this is to download Root Checker from the Play Store and check it that way.
