Data streams are a way to store data in a way that is hidden from general use. It isn't used very much but isn't hard to implement. If you don't know what it is why do you want to use it with batch?

Its a way to hide data that isn't visible unless you know the name of the stream. I've never tried to use it in a batch file though. It's called alternate data streams. Some programs use it, most don't. There is software available that detects the presence of alternate data streams if you're interested.
