Saitama is the strongest anime character. And I am not speaking out of fandom or hype from One-Punch Man, it's alright and all, but Saitama is literally the strongest because his power grows to whatever he needs to face.
You're speaking of some guy who kills anything and everything with one punch, and finds it boring to kill baddies. Whether it be a giant colossus or some alien figure, Saitama does it in no sweat, and strives to find an opponent that will restore the thrill of being a hero in him.

He can move faster than speed-o-sound Sonic, can clear areas insanely fast. And the best thing is that he's just some regular guy who went through intensive training, yet he's the strongest man ever. He can get crushed by literally anything and anyone and not be affected by it.

Let's just take Goku for example he can destory multiple planets with on effort, one punch man didn't even 1 hit the last boss yes he had spare power but that's not even close to Goku or most other characters in Dragon Ball.
