So, a while ago I changed my username 1337 times. And I did not use a bot or automate it in any form.

I understand that Omni decides all the rules of HF and all members are expected to obey these rules otherwise they are prone to an account closing.
I've read the Help Docs. And nowhere in the Help Docs did it say that changing your username a multitude of times in a short period of time was a violation of HF's rules, it certainly didn't say that this was worthy of an account closing.

So how was I expected to not break that rule when I had no clue it existed, I understood the 5 day ban I received for it, and I believe that is good enough punishment because now I understand that what I did was frowned upon, and I wouldn't repeat it.

But closing my account because of such a mundane act like changing my username 1337 times?
I see a closed account as someone who Omni tried to get away from all the other members.
A scammer gets their account closed so they don't scam more members, someone who leaked private info is closed so they don't put more members at risk.
A guy who changed his username a bunch of times is closed for what?


Maybe Omni was in a bad mood at the time, I don't know.

That was my side of the story, now if Omni decides to re-open my account he'll probably merge it with this, and my account will get messed up.

I truly believe a 5 day ban and a repfuck was more than enough, closing my account wasn't necessary given I had no idea that was not allowed.

Omniscient used to only ban, repfuck and suspend posting privileges of users who abused the feature. I'm not sure what he will do here, but what you did was pretty stupid.

I know it's not against the rules, but use common sense do you honestly think that changing your username consistently wouldn't be considered annoying for one and two to be abusive?

Well, changing your username 1337 is really childish, but it could have been more than just the fact that you changed your username.
