then i think you should watch: Touhai Densetsu Akagi: Yami ni Maiorita Tensai

This anime, i had no idea what the game they are playing is. but with time holy SHIT did i get it a little bit, and even still. i loved it so much, i watched a lot of anime. but this one, right here. stands out honestly, it's just mind blowing. the MC is epic. badass as it can get.

The graphic is not for everyone, i honestly very much like it. got a bit bored with the HD cute girls fighting sheiiiiiiiiit.

Honestly, give it a look. 3-4 episodes. you wont regret it prop.

If you're looking for a heavy philosophy and aesthetically pleasing animation then watch Hyouge Mono. Very heavily focused on poetic appeal of the anime. Not your traditional brute anime or pornographic animations. You really got to have a profound sense of philophical intellect, or just general Japanese history (although this isn't a historical anime it's based around historical events so idk if you can consider it that).

Oh and akagi is a classic. If you enjoy the style of that anime I also suggest Saraiya Goyou, has a unique style to it as well. It's mysterious too but mostly revolves around a episodic plot If i remember right.

super old but has to say, akagi. i watched that.

And oh my god, it's one if not the BEST anime i have EVER seen. so good, this. this is what anime should be like, not your classic half naked girls. this shit was DOPE. also, i watched kaiji after akagi, and it's AMAZING. both are so similier/same directors and stuff. also animation, it was so amazing.

Hands down those 2, are on the top. i wish i can rewatch it over and over again, for the first time. i regret watching all the episodes so fast.. but it was so damn good..
