edit: at the time of posting it seems the Steam api isn't working... so you can't link your Steam account atm
Yeah, there is quite a long wait to get your steam account connected - but it is very cool.

The first version of this feature came out actually like last year; but with only the titles of Stalker and Witcher really - what you had to do was get your steam cd key and enter it into GOG. Now they have more games and it happens automatically - it is a big step, but I don't see it going too far altogether really.

Steam isn't just an amazing platform for marketing your games, it is also a pretty secure platform that these companies use to prevent piracy on their games. Ever since GOG has been popularized, almost all of the people to post the pirated versions of games will post the GOG version if it is available because it's easier to pirate than a game you get from disc. It doesn't need a steam key and basically already has a crack inside it. There still will be some new games on there, the biggest series they will have is probably Witcher due to the affiliation with CD PROJEKT RED and the fact this is basically their website.

I do hope more games come on, but I don't see it being very likely for lots of game developers - and currently it will be limited to all the games currently on GOG, which is quite a drastic change from the amount of games on steam, at least for newer titles. But I do admit that GOG has been impressing me recently; they need to adjust their prices maybe, but it is an amazing platform that has been getting the popularity it deserves recently.

Man, Steam needs to bring up their level. The Steam API makes the process quite long, but the service they are providing is actually really cool. Steam is a great place to list your games but GOG is definitely a large competitor with Steam, and in some aspects better, if not, more.
I hope GOG continues to do this connect service regularly. As someone with over a thousand steam games, I really don't see myself jumping to GOG at all since my library only has like 50 games in it after years of having it. Thank god you can add GOG games to the steam client so you can just run them from there, otherwise I would completely forget about the GOG games I own.
