Introduction

Quote:What security software should I use? What anti-virus is the best? How about a firewall? And what about spyware? Should I use one of the all-in-one packages that claim to do everything? Is there anything else I need?

As you might imagine, I get questions like this all the time. As a result, I do have recommendations for security software and techniques to stay safe!

Why you need antivirus - What is antivirus?

Antivirus software detects, and then prevents, disarms or removes malicious programs or malware, often referred to as 'viruses'. Antivirus doesn't offer a perfect solution to the problem of malware, but it is a critical first step to securing your PC or laptop. To help prevent viruses infecting your PC you must install antivirus, and then regularly update your antivirus software.

What is Firewall?

A firewall works as a barrier, or a shield, between your PC and cyber space. When you are connected to the Internet, you are constantly sending and receiving information in small units called packets. The firewall filters these packets to see if they meet certain criteria set by a series of rules, and thereafter blocks or allows the data. This way, hackers cannot get inside and steal information such as bank account numbers and passwords from you.

What is Antimalware?

Antimalware software protects against infections caused by many types of malware, including viruses, worms, Trojan horses, rootkits, spyware, keyloggers, ransomware and adware. Antimalware software can be installed on an individual computing device, gateway server or dedicated network appliance. It can also be purchased as a cloud service or be embedded in a computing device's firmware.

What is Antispyware

Anti-spyware software is a type of program designed to prevent and detect unwanted spyware program installations and to remove those programs if installed. Detection may be either rules-based or based on downloaded definition files that identify currently active spyware programs.

The following products I would advise to anybody!

Antiviruses

Avast
AviraAVG

Firewalls

Tallemu Online Armor
Comodo
Zone Alarm

Anti-malware programs

alwareBytes AntiMalware
Bitdefender

Anti-Spyware programs

spybot Search & Destroy

Other

Ad-aware (free anti-adware)
CCleaner (run this often to clean your registry and other temporary files etc.)
KeyScrambler (ultimate protection against keyloggers.).

But remember, your best defense is simply being careful!

Thats literally making a thread about use hf and not google
You can't be serious with this thread when calling it "security softwares" ... These softwares and firewalls you so greatly recommend doesn't protect against todays advanced cyber criminals and threats.

1.) Windows 8.1 OS (Gaming) Tails OS (Computer Use)
2.) Bitdefender Internet Security (System Security Software)
3.) Blancco Computer Data Eraser (Data Destruction Software)
4.) System Mechanic Pro (System Maintenance Software)
5.) HitmanPro.Alert (Anti Malware Software)
6.) SpySheltet (Anti Keylogger Software)
7.) Strixus Firewall (Mostly Advanced Cyber-Security Software)

1.) Sigaint Mail / MyMail (Anonymous & Private Email Providers)
2.) Kali Linux (Advanced Penetration Testing Tool)
3.) Nessus (Network Vulnerbility Scanner)
4.) Wireshark (Network Protocol Analyser)
5.) Snort (Network Intrustion Detection System)
6.) Netcat (Network Utility Tool)
7.) VCPoVPN (Anonymous DarkNet SSH/SSL VPN)
8.) Tor Browser (Anonymous DarkNet Web Browser)
I like Malwarebytes, Malwarebytes anti explot, MBAR (malwarebytes anti rootkit), SAS is ok.. (super anti-spyware), adwcleaner is good, roguekiller is good.. or you could get sandboxie and watch your porn through a sandboxed browser. And only run sketchy programs on a VM...
Hey guys calm down.. I'm just trying to help others.. If its too much i can ask a mod to take this down ffs.
cheers for this, good stuff
