Difference between OnShore & Offshore hosting

Can someone who has a lot of knowledge on web hostings/servers.

I've been making sites several times and im still pretty confused of what is the diference between onshore & offshore.

What i thought was this:

OFFSHORE
~ I can post anything on my website that is NOT allowed on onshore (besides cpu eating, email bombs, ddos scripts, child porn, etc)

ONSHORE
~ I can NOT postor host anything that is copyrighted like, embedding full movies, posting cracks of softwares, and using nulled scripts.

Please someone explain it further. i wanted to know a lot.
Thank you! 🤝

Sometime it means the following -
Onshore = US based servers
Offshore = Europe or any location outside US

BTW this link might help you - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_hosting_service

Also Spamming, Attacking, DDOS or Phishing activities are forbidden in almost all the providers so ask them first before making any deal.

Hope it helps.
Onshore typical means a US server, as many users are from the U.S.
However, in a more global sense, onshore means any server that is located in USA, Canada, England, or another country that has similar laws (Australia, Scotland, etc).

Offshore means any server in a country that has relaxed laws, or no enforced laws in regards to hosting, and often doesn't extradite to the U.S. or respect US law altogether. Offshore examples: Netherlands, Russia, China, Vietnam.
Onshore can be US or EU. It is sort of a term for web hosting on clean networks and neighborhoods. Offshore hosting is in places with more lenient internet laws, or simply ins't monitored. Preferably a country that doesn't listen to foreign laws.
