Hi, everyone. I have a lot of tools at my disposal, and I know very well how to use them. The challenge is, I can't decide what to use them for.
I have four main ideas, but I don't know which idea is most lucrative, and in more demand. Please help me choose.
Each idea would be manifested as a SaaS.
Idea #1
This platform would exist with the intention of reducing scams within the Marketplace. Users would register on the site, and associate their account with their user ID on HackForums (accounts can be verified via PM, no worries here).
Users can either sell or buy. For each transaction, two things are held in escrow - the payment, and the good the seller is selling. Transactions would be able to be disputed for up to 7 days after completion.
The important part is the feedback and reputation (out of 5 stars) left after each transaction. Instead of the reputation system on this forum, reputation would ONLY be based off experiences with past buyers. Feedback would be public (buyer's name would be hidden), which would prepare future buyers for dealing with the seller.
In addition, there would be a sort of "levels" system. Users would be limited in the amount of payment they could receive until they reach certain levels. This ensures that the only people who can receive large sums of money through the system are those with proven track records of clean dealing.
I have a few more features in mind.
I believe that system could be very successful, as it presents a virtually risk-free solution for online commerce.
The only thing would be advertising, and getting people to start using it.
Having a "TRUSTED SELLER" badge might woo some people.
Idea #2
An SaaS (and SDK) allowing developers to easily include advertising in their programs.
Relatively self-explanatory.
Idea #3
An SaaS (and SDK) allowing developers to easily include detailed analytics and crash reporting in their applications.
Not only would this help remedy unforeseen errors in deployment, but it could also be used to help deter piracy. I would include automatic detection and alerts of suspicious activity. For example, if an individual user was noticed running your application from multiple IP's, you would be alerted of a license key that had been potentially distributed online.
Idea #4
Somewhat reminiscent of Pusher, this would be a platform making live messages and push notifications easily available to people running all sorts of servers, whether they be ASP.NET, PHP, Node.js, or something else.
Thanks in advance! Leave any questions or comments below.
