Just wondering how much data you guys are using when playing Pokemon Go? I have the most basic plan with my provider, and it gives me a free 50Mb of data. I disabled the background service on pretty much every apps except Pokemon Go and I'll give it a try soon tonight to see how much data it takes...
If I'm lucky, my job will provide me an iPhone soon with 2Gb of data per month, so I could use it as a hotspot then connect my Nexus 5 to it and play Pokemon.
I already downloaded a few Google Maps locally to my phone and I'll open the app and let it load a bit before leaving the house.
Any other tips/tricks?

I have about the same package on my Iphone 6 and It is told that pokemon go uses about 0.01gb/hr I have used a lot of hours running pokemon go and so far with the plan I have no issue.
I haven't actually checked how much iv used so far. I probably should, i'll have gone over by now

How do I know how much data I use per hour?
I've been playing for days and I barely have 10 MB's a data, such goo data mangement for this game lmao.
whoever threw that paper, your mom's a hoe.
Well, I guess you could check your current data usage for the app (Pokemon Go), go out, play 15 minutes (or even an hour) and then do the maths. Just asking for an average here.

There are a few apps that you can use to track your data usage. I have AT&T and i use about 20mb per hour so not to much its the equivalent of having google maps open all the time.
My plan consists of unlimited data per month thankfully so I have no issues in regards to that. I'm sure many are trying to play with Wi-Fi on though!

Depends on your provider, in my case I can open a website provided by my provider where I can see my current data usage. I dont know if you guys have the same in your countries, but in Germany we have that.

Yeah but then you are limited to the zone with the coverage. It fucking sucks because I work in a big ass headquarters (with a huge warehouse) but since it's brand new, the map they use hasn't been updated and it's not on it. So no PokeStops or even Pokemon nearby... Sent them a ticket and they replied instantly saying that they won't be adding anything for now, but will consider my city in the future. Fuck.

I've got unlimited but I don't think it takes up a lot of data somehow. Must leech of Wi-Fi or something. I've only got 20-30MB
I have unlimited data and this month I have used around 20 gb of data.
It's been already said by a dev I think or someone with credit on reddit that it actually takes around 20 to 30 MB per hour.
This is if your app is open the entire time :P
