[1 . Download your map!!]
Pokemon Go uses Google Map's API, so downloading the map from Google Maps as an offline map should reduce battery consumption and makes things run much more smoother.
( For iPhone, download Google Maps from the Appstore and follow the same instructions )
1 . Open Google Maps.
2 . Go to Settings.
3 . Go to Offline Maps.
4 . Hit the "+" sign.
5 . Choose your area.
Now the map will be readily available instead of consistently refreshing.
Enjoy!
[2 . Turn on Battery Saver!]
This can be very useful, especially when you won't be looking at your screen very often ( e.g when you're taking a jog or at work )
1 . Launch Pokemon Go
2. Tap on the Pokeball located at the bottom of your screen
3 . Tap on Settings and Enable Battery Saver
Now you're done, when you're taking a jog or whatever - simply tilt your phone up-side-down and you're set! Whenever a Pokemon appears, your phone will continue to vibrate.
[3 . Turn your brightness down]
The higher the brightness, the more the game consumes your battery!
If you have good eyesight, turning your brightness down to a minimum shouldn't be a problem.
