The stage of Kuroshitsuji II opens on the life of Alois Trancy, the young heir to the Trancy earldom. Though he is privileged now, such was not always the case for the hot-tempered boy. Kidnapped and forced into slavery at a young age, he was eventually rescued and returned home, only to have his beloved father pass away soon after.

However, there are certain individuals who doubt Alois' story and legitimacy. And rightfully so, because things in the Trancy household are not as they appear, starting with Alois' black-clad butler with supernatural abilities, Claude Faustus. Who exactly is the mysterious Claude, and what connection does he have with Alois?

Amid the web of lies and deceit running rampant in the mansion, the bond between Alois and Claude will be tested as hell itself arrives at their doorstep.

As good as the 1st season. Dayum Sebastian is the most epic butler ever. Mommy, I want one.

I watched the first season and the Circus arc. Didn't end up watching this. Are the same characters involved? From the art and the synopsis it looks like a spin-off.

The same characters are involved. Despite the cover you're seeing, it's still Ciel and Sebastian as main characters, with 2 new MCs.

There's also book of circus which I think is one of the best and it originates from the manga almost purely.
Season 2 was pretty good, didn't care for the ending though.

O wow, I didn't realize that no one had made a thread for the second season and that one for the first had existed. I watched all 3 seasons back to back about over a year ago and was a pretty good anime. While I spent half the time trying to convince myself that Ciel wasn't a girl (and even Alois in one scene during this season, I won't spoil anything though), Sebastian remains a true badass in my books :3

Definitely a good intro anime for a few ppl I think, found it to be well done. However I will say that the story for the second season jumped the shark in the last 2-3 episodes and made things a bit confusing but overall was alright.
