For $100 you'll be able to get a 2TB easily. I really like Seagate products so maybe I'm a little biased.

The 2TB version is $85

If you stick to the main brands, any 1TB will do really.
Western Digital, Samsung, Seagate, Toshiba etc.

I always go with the WD Passports.

That's a 2TB external for only $90
Here's a 1TB external from WD for $60

I have bought numerous of these over the years and they've always worked well with Mac or PC. The ONLY downfall of them is transfer speeds. They're not terribly slow, but they're not too fast either... So you might have to wait a few minutes if you're transferring tons and tons of files (high in file size) at once.

I bought WD My Passport 1 TB in $60 few months ago. It is amazing.

I bought the Seagate Backup Plus 1TB for around $60 a few months ago. I haven't had any problem with it.
Thanks for the suggestions guys, i think i might order one for my birthday, idk

DO NOT buy a hard drive from Seagate, they have very high failure rates and you'll regret. Buy from a company such as Western Digital.
Seagate has high failure rates so just go for Western Digital which is much more reputable and reliable.
Yea i already have a 1tb drive from WD, i need a new one because the one i have is filled with programs, steam games, over 700GB of Roms and Iso's plus backup from my old computer

Been using Seagate HDD's for almost 10 years. I swear on my life I have never had one fail on me.
First time I have heard about high failure rate

So would Western Digital technically. Since hard drives are all practically the same inside in my opinion there hasn't been any new developments in hard drives for many years. Either way, I'd personally pick which ever brand has the cheapest price at the time of purchase. Here is the article they are probably referencing from.
I recommend any Western Digital 2TB HDD
