However, after many of his classmates died in a war, he makes an oath to make the nation a more orderly and peaceful place, with fellow survivor and best friend, Sion Astal.

Now that Sion is the the king of Roland, he orders Ryner to search for useful relics that will aid the nation. It has been in my PTW for quite some time, but I just recently decided to watch it. I like it, it's light, funny and there's also a good plot where I couldn't predict what would happen until the very end, even though I paid attention the whole time. I don't think this Anime is for people who can't handle going from "light comedy" to "super serious stuff" really fast (I didn't particuliary enjoy it either, but it wasn't enough to make me drop the Anime). I recommend it.

Oooo, I'm going to check this out! Thanks for the recc!

This show seriously needs a Season 2. No idea if there'll ever be one though.

I really have been wanting to watch this for ages now, but I read that it will NOT be getting a second season and that it had a cliffhanger ending so I've strayed away from it for that reason

[Aura]

It does have a cliffhanging ending, and their probably want be a second season (someone suggested there might be one in 2014-2015, but we're mid 2016 now and nothing)...

Also on my PTW, saw it after I finished Legend of the Galactic Heroes since the names were similar but ik for a fact they are nothing related whatsoever. But might watch it eventually.

I have been meaning to watch this, but been ever-so hesitant because of the negative reviews I have seen. Needless to say I won't let another person's experience define my own. Just need to get around to watching it now.

I actually just watched this yesterday / today and I really enjoyed it. It's pretty funny and I like how it has darkness to the plot and background story of the majority of the characters. For the longest time I put off this series or dismissed watching it because it's name in english and such made it seem like an overly generic series. But really it's not; its very good I love everytime a character decided to go berserk.
