I am opening this community alert because this reminds me all too much of the famous "Nigerian Prince scam". It all started about 15 minutes ago when I received an unsolicited PM that I'm assuming was sent out to a bunch of users...

I then verified that his Skype belonged to his HF account, as I always do before speaking with any HF users.


Note: I am from the USA, but I wanted to see what this user was up to.


This next part is SUPER SKETCHY. "Whenever I do this, I do as much as you feel comfortable with." and "I normally do is around 1,200 but I only send 300 at a time and then wait until transfer."
He contacted me because he was in a one off situation where his funds were held up... Though it sounds like he does this a lot. Also, I've been to fucking Spain and you don't need minimums of 1,200 from multiple users to get there & back. He also said he's not even flying, so his story doesn't even make sense because there's no way he needs as much money as he's implying to go to Spain via car...I would have kept talking to him, but as soon as he said he was going via car I knew there was something up with him. I was hoping he'd say he had a flight out because then I'd ask for a flight itinerary / proof of ticket purchase. I've been to over 20 countries (I think like 25, but I forget) and used to live in England. Shit just doesn't add up.



OrbisonV2 has negative rep and cannot reply. C$GO has relayed a message from him, as I encouraged that - I think he should at least have his chance to share his side of the story. Unfortunately, he only made it worse...

Basically some relatives of mine are paying for me to stay in Girona, Spain with them and they offered to pay for everything including my flights, meals and housing costs. I'm going in a couple of months, so excited ✌

He told us previously that his relatives are bankrolling the entire trip and he doesn't have to spend a dime because he's going on a month long free vacation to Spain. So... Why the fuck does he need money today? No clue... But he definitely made his situation worse by trying to "prove his innocence" through C$GO. That's for sure.

Well that's shitty. If someone wants to relay his message, go for it. I'm all for making people aware of suspicious situations, but he definitely should be able to at least share his side of the story.

I simply have some money that I needed transferring into my bank, so I could bypass the 21 Day hold, as I am going on holiday very soon, I needed the money before then.

If he can provide proof of a travel itinery, any applicable visas, prior investments made in the trip and proof of funds that are "being held for 21 days" then I am more than willing to close this thread. That said, I highly doubt he can.

He said right there that his relatives are bankrolling the entire trip. So he basically just confirmed that his entire story today was a lie. He made his situation WORSE by trying to share his side of the story. LOL 🤣

I never said I didn't need the money to buy things whilst I was there. Yes the trip is getting paid for, but that doesn't mean that I don't need spending cash to go shopping, buy things whilst I'm there, etc, etc.
