[GUIDE] How to stay anonymous on internet.

Hello guys this is my first contribution to HF community so please forgive for the mistakes.

Everyone here on the hack tab at HF or looking at my topic somewhere has intentions of being a hacker, i am providing you guys a little guide on being anonymous on Internet.

Browsers:

Following is the list of browsers and a little description bout them, these browsers mostly keep you anonymous.

#1: Tor.

Quote:Tor is short for The Onion Router (thus the logo) and was initially a worldwide network of servers developed with the U.S. Navy that enabled people to browse the internet anonymously. Now, it's a non-profit organization whose main purpose is the research and development of online privacy tools.

The Tor network disguises your identity by moving your traffic across different Tor servers, and encrypting that traffic so it isn't traced back to you. Anyone who tries would see traffic coming from random nodes on the Tor network, rather than your computer. (For a more in-depth explanation, check out this post from our sister blog, Gizmodo).

#2: Mozilla Firefox. (Use with adding a proxy Add-on.

#3: I2P
Quote:I2P is an unidentified peer-to-peer distributes communication layer which is built by means of the open source tools. It is a complete alternative to TOR. The software implementing this computer network layer like any other P2P software is called I2P layer. It is designed and optimized for secret services, faster than Tor with completely distributed and self-organizing potential.

=> VPN
VPN stands for Virtual Private Network, This is a software designed for hiding your real ip and providing you some other ip which is visible on internet.

There are many VPN's present in the market but it is always preferred to use paid VPN because it hides you to a much greater extent by not storing user logs.

Here is the list of some best VPN's:
1-ExpressVPN
2-BUFFERED
3-IPVANISH
4-[censored]
5-VPN AREA.COM

You can use many free vpn's just google for them.

==> Emails:
Using mailing websites like Gmail, yahoo and other famous ones can leave you visible clearly on internet.

IP's as well as location of the email sent by you can easily be tracked online via various methods which includes cyber forensics,ip2location etc.

Here i am providing you a mailing website which will make you stay invisible to the people whom you're mailing.

Code
www dot sigaint dot org

==> Other ways of being anonymous.
Tails.

Quote:Tails is a live operating system, that you can start on almost any computer from a DVD, USB stick, or SD card. It aims at preserving your privacy and anonymity, and helps you to:

Some common misconceptions people have while trying to be anonymous:

1- Using a VPN can always result me from hiding online.

-No it's not always so, Even if you’re using a VPN to hide your IP address, it’s still possible to give away clues to your identity via your DNS traffic but there's an easy way to detect if your configuration is leaking your DNS information by
visiting:
Code
dnsleaktest dot com

2- Using multiple virtual machines like one for mailing another for social networking and other for hacking can make me hide.

No it's not like that all the data being sent online is from your real machine so it's no worth using VM's.

3- Google is my best friend!

No! Every single search, location and many more can be easily tracked in no time so stop using google from now.

Some Practices for being anonymous online.

1- Never link your pseudonym with your real life identity!

2- Do not open links until you fully have trust on it, one single click can make your ip visible.

3- I repeat again not to use google for searching!

4- Don't use skype for contacting.
Quote:"You deserved to be hacked or doxed if you're at skype"

~Anon

4- Block third party cookies on the browser you use.
END

Thanks for viewing.

P.S: This is my very first topic so please forgive for the mistakes, there are many things left to be explained and sorry for the images and proper links i can't post them.

I've asked many times in the topic to "google" and at the same time asking you to stop using google that's just before going anonymous.

REPLACE the "dot" with "." in the links provided if that made u confuse.

I will be updating the topic and will removes the mistakes laterwards since i'm very sleepy now.
Wrong section kinda, we have an anonymity/private investigation subforum here too. Also, the guides there are exponentially better, like:

humble rubyist in a world of pythonistas
Great Job. But I agree with the user above, there are many anonymity threads with richer information than this one.

I agree, this is my very first topic i didn't entered much info.. here for making the topic user friendly and information i've provided is enough for beginners.
I have a quest. About tor: While using tor browser someone from tor ip pool is using my ip? And I'm using anotjer one's ip? People are talking about ip pool but I don't know its real or not
Good tutorial, under emails you may want to mention something about being able to get emails that don't keep logs of anything via TOR. :)
Here is my current OPSEC setup. Please give me your advice/tips on how i could improve my anonymity.
Keep in mind I do not want to use linux OS, my work online requires a windows OS.

Windows 10 Host OS --> VPN ---> Windows 7 VM configured to use Whonix Gateway --> Offshore RDP --> VPN --> Internet
looks good.

it could use some tweaking but looks good!
