If you want hide a file on your computer.
you need a hex editor ( hex workshop )

Let's assume:
you want hide a file on your computer.
first, zip the file in .rar and add a password, remember the password.
use a hex editor, open the .rar with hex editor, change a letter on something in the hex edit and save, it must destroy the file.
remember the letter you have modified in the hex editor.
try opening the .rar file, it must say ERROR. but its not fucked
you have to change the letter with hex editor and the rar file will work again :)
you can do it for all file like: pictures, videos, .....
