Hello everybody,
here's my problem: I'm using my university connection (it is the only one I've got). The firewall of the network blocks the connection to some services, like IRC, crypto-currencies and sometimes it interfere even with the update manager.
I've tried to bypass it with a Tor proxy, but it closed the connection. So I've tried to set a manual bridge using obsf3 and obsf4, but while finishing the "handshake" procedure it gets frozen. I repeat: it doesn't close the connection, it just gets frozen.
Here what I see from my terminal:
Code Oct 13 09:48:25.000 [notice] Delaying directory fetches: Pluggable transport proxies still configuring
Oct 13 09:48:27.000 [notice] Bootstrapped 5%: Connecting to directory server
Oct 13 09:48:27.000 [notice] Bootstrapped 10%: Finishing handshake with directory server
The last line is where it gets frozen.
I understand this might be a delicate question, but I don't want to bypass the firewall for any illegal purpose. It is just for using the services mentioned above.
If it can be useful I'm using Ubuntu 16.04
Thanks in advance
You probably have tried, but just to make sure have you tried a basic free VPN and/or paid VPN?
Actually I haven't because I don't know how to configure it. Online I have found only VPN Server on payment or free with a very limited traffic (like 1 GB a month). Do you know if there's a free VPN service with not such a strict limit on the traffic? Or can I eventually setup a VPN Server on my parents computer, so I connect to it for free?
use a ssh tunnel, and if for some reason port 22 is blocked. listen on port 80
i use this at work :-)

Most VPN providers are cheap. You should buy an subscription and support the industry.
Or get a friend of yours to setup a VPN tunnel which you can use.
I would, but I'm a university student with no income. It's really too much expensive in my condition, you see?

You can get a VPN subscription for like $4 (even less at some other places) or $40 for a whole year. It is possible if you are able to port forward etc, to setup a VPN server at your parents house. Look into OpenVPN.

I'm a student to, but i am not lazy and i do something that's called work and now i can own two cars, apartment, phone, food, weed and a VPN connection. You see?
Just shell out the money and get it done. If you really can't, google for some PPTP free VPN's (PPTP is the oldest VPN technology and isn't as secure, though I've seen it get through firewalls on enterprise setups due to the fact that it's not used as much anymore).
If you go with a free setup, don't send anything critical through it unless the website is SSL. And if it wants to install a certificate, don't do it as they might be decrypting SSL before it goes to the real server.

Depending on which your you use to connect with etc.
Okay, I will try to setup a VPN server in my parents house using OpenVPN. Of course it won't be the best solution, especially in terms of performance, but it's what I can afford right now. As soon as I can get some money I'll subscribe to a proper VPN service, supporting the industry, and be like those cool guys who can afford to buy 2 cars. Just give me time to fix my financial situation ;-)
If I have any further question I'll write you back. Meanwhile thanks to all of you for you availability.

Before doing all that, you should learn how to manage money. Have you ever in your life worked before? Or are you a social security case?
Look, I know you're all cocky because you have 5 satoshis in your Bitcoin wallet, but before acting like a great businessman you should take care of your hosting service. I mean, you haven't even implemented the 'support' and the 'abuse report' pages on your website. You've just filled a bloody template without bothering to create those pages or deleting the useless links. Considering the quality of your work, I wonder if you have ever worked. Or are you too busy in writing meaningless posts in this forum? How much time did you save neglecting those details? 20-30 minutes, tops! You lazy prick! I think you should choose better your priorities: playing the big stack bully with an economically disadvantaged person is frankly useless, but to implement a support area on your hosting service it's far more critical. There isn't even a bloody email address to contact you! How embarrassing...
Oh, don't worry about my money management, I'm just in a new city and I have to find a new place where to work. I don't think I am to blame for that since it's a fairly normal situation. As I said, I just need few weeks to find an after-class work. Now you can stop worrying about my economic situation and go back to fix your website. But hey, I've appreciated your caring :-D You've made me feel welcomed on this forum :-)
