[Apex - Guide & Support] Sports Betting

Intro:

I've seen a lot of interest around sports betting recently so I decided to make this guide. I notice a lot of users want tips to copy but I strongly advise users to only copy a tip if you are also confident the bet will win. Never bet blindly as you're putting all your faith into another user who may know nothing about betting.

I'm going to explain exactly what I personally do before placing a bet. Using this method will allow you to find your own bets rather than copy somebody else's. You can still copy tips if you like but I highly recommend you research the teams yourself and be confident in the bet before you place it.

I ONLY bet on football (soccer) matches. I don't follow any other sport enough to make educated bets.

Sites:

http://bet365.com - The best site to use, it has the most markets and most of the time it has the best odds. Deposit methods: http://help.bet365.com/en/payments.

http://cloudbet.com/ - BTC betting site. I've not used any other BTC sports betting sites but this one allows you to bet on the majority of matches.

http://soccerway.com - Awesome site to research your bets.

http://www.futbol24.com/ - Alternative site to research bets.

Researching bets:

This is the most important part. Most users will not take the time to research the teams at all, they'll just bet an hope luck is on their side. It honestly takes no more than a couple of mins to research the two teams and decide what bet to place. On very active days when there is 100's of games being played within a couple of hours, I will research 100+ teams within an hour, pick out my favourites and place the bets.

Firstly, go to your betting site of choice and find a game. (example: Manchester United v Wolfburg).

Google: "manchester united soccerway" (99% of the time it will be the top link). This will bring up the results page showing a few of their previous results:

Find the correct match and click the kick off time:

This will take you to a page where you can compare the two teams against each other:

Spoiler (Click to View)

Now you can check where they are in their league table, all their previous match results and much more if you browse around the site a little. The main focus is the previous results and what league they are in so to keep things simple I will not go into detail about browsing the site any further.

If you check the full results page for both teams you will notice that neither team fails to score at least 1 goal. A good bet to place here would be "BTTS" (Both Teams To Score). This just means you need both teams to score one goal for your bet to win.

Basically you will research the two teams and make a decision on what type of bet to place. There are several bets you could place on this game. "Over 1.5 goals" for example. This just means you need 2 or more goals in the game, it doesn't matter what team scores them or if they score one each, you just need 2 goals for your bet to win.

I'm not going to explain every bet, you can google and research all the different markets you can bet on. I like to keep things simple and I'll explain some of the simple bets in the next section.

If your team(s) are not on soccerway or soccerway doesn't show any previous results then use the alternative site listed above. Very rarely this happens but if neither site shows enough results/information for you to research a bet, then avoid that game and move onto another one.

If it's hard for you to decide on a bet to place, then move onto another game. You'll soon realise when researching if you've found a bet worth placing. If you can't decide on what bet to place or you have any doubt that your bet isn't going to win, then forget about that game and move on.

Betting Markets:

Win or Draw - The simplest bet you'll learn about. You're simply picking a team to win or the game to be a draw. I don't think this needs any further explanation.

Double Chance - This is a much safer bet but you'll get worse odds. There are 3 options:

1. Team 1 to win or draw - This means your team can either win or draw to win your bet.

2. Team 2 to win or draw - Same as above but for the other team.

3. Team 1 or Team 2 to win - This means any team can win but if they draw you will lose your bet.

Draw No Bet - This is exactly as it sounds. If your team wins, you win. If your team draws then it is 'no bet' and you get your stake back. If your team loses, then you lose your stake.

Over 0.5 Match Goals / Under 0.5 Match Goals - Most betting sites use half numbers rather than full ones, I don't know the exact reason why but I'll explain what it means.

Over 0.5 Goals means 1 or more goals.
Under 0.5 Goals means less than 1 goal.

Over 1.5 Goals means 2 or more goals.
Under 1.5 Goals means 1 or less goals.

Over 6.5 Goals means 7 or more goals.
Under 6.5 Goals means 6 or less goals.

I hope you get the idea? lol.

It doesn't matter what teams score the goals, you just need the goals to be scored.

Example: Manchester United v Wolfsburg - Over 2.5 Goals.

This means that we need 3 or more goals in this game. It doesn't matter about the end result as long as the game has 3 or more goals.

Manchester United 3 - 0 Wolfsburg
Manchester United 2 - 1 Wolfsburg
Manchester United 1 - 2 Wolfsburg
Manchester United 2 - 2 Wolfsburg
Manchester United 6 - 4 Wolfsburg

As you can see it doesn't matter who wins or what the final score is as long as it is OVER 2.5 goals.

Both Teams To Score (BTTS) - As I explained in the previous section. It does NOT matter what the end result is as long as BOTH teams score at least 1 goal.

Team Clean Sheet - A clean sheet means that ZERO goals are scored against a team.

This is split into 4 different bets:

Team 1: yes/no
Team 2: yes/no

You simply select YES if you think that team will have a clean sheet or you click NO if you think that they will let in at least one goal. Again the end result of the game does not matter as long as a team keeps a clean sheet or has at least 1 scored against them.

Other Markets - There's sooooo many different markets for you to bet on. I recommend keeping it simple until you research all the different markets.

Asian Handicap - This is probably the most confusing of all markets. If I tried to explain this it would add 20k characters to this guide and would get super confusing. If you want to understand asian handicap then visit this page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asian_handicap

I still don't remember how asian handicap works so I always resort to checking the table in this guide just past the half way point.

Odds Explained:

There are three types of odds you may come across: Decimal, Fractional and American. You can usually change from one type of odds to another in the settings of your betting account. Some sites don't allow you to change to your odds of choice so I'll explain them all here so you should be able to understand all of them.

Decimal - I find these the easiest to follow. You simply multiply your stake by the odds.

Example:
Bet: Manchester United to win @2.10
Stake: $11
Work it out: stake odds = payout
Work it out: 11
2.10 = 23.10

You can also subtract your stake from the payout to see how much profit you made from that bet.
Payout - stake = profit
23.10 - 11 = 12.10 profit.

Fractions - Since I'm from the UK and fractions are our default odds I can bet using them with ease. For others it may seem a little more complicated.

I'll use the example "2/1".

The first number is how much you will win if you stake the 2nd number. So in this case you need to bet $1 to win $2. You also get your stake back meaning you'll get $3 back.

Example: "15/7"

You need to place $7 to win $15 = $22 total.

It gets a little more complicated if you're betting random amounts like $13.24, this isn't a mathematics lesson so I'm not going to explain how to work out the exact number but here is what I do (using 15/7 example):

I know $13.24 is almost double the 2nd number in the fraction. So I will just double both numbers, 15/7 becomes 30/14. So I know I'll win just a little under $30 if I placed $13.24.

American - I've never used American odds before, they're super confusing to me. In a perfect world everybody would keep it simple and use decimal odds but here is a website explaining how American odds work: https://www.pinnacle.com/en/betting-arti...cle-sports

Most gambling sites will work all this out for you and show you "potential winnings" before placing a bet but it doesn't hurt to know how to work out the odds yourself.

In-Play Betting:

This is my favourite way to bet and this is how I win the majority of my money.

You should still research the bets like I explained above, only this time you can see in game statistics to help you decide on your bet.

Even if you don't use http://bet365.com to place your bets, I highly recommend using this site for in-play stats.

I placed a bet while typing this, I'll explain why:

I searched "Manchester city u19 soccerway" and I noticed that they score in almost every game. Out of the 29 previous results shown, they only failed to score in 3 of those games.

Looking at the previous results, Borussia look like the better team BUT looking at the stats you will notice that Manchester city have had a lot more dangerous attacks and a lot more shots, it really looks like they're going to score 1 or more goals.

You may ask why I didn't place BTTS (Both Teams To Score)? Well, I'm greedy. I got better odds for 'Manchester city win or draw'. I got 8/11 where as if I placed BTTS I would had only got 8/15:

So as you can see that in-play betting can be much more profitable and safer. If I bet pre-game I would of bet on Borussia since they are the better team BUT after checking the in-play stats, I noticed that Manchester city was playing much better than Borussia.

Also, just to brag, as I was typing this manchester city socred haha:

https://i.imgur.com/ZM35LmL.png

So now all I need is the game to finish as it is or manchester city to score another goal. As long as Borussia doesn't win the game, I'll win my bet.

They scored again before I could finish this guide so I'll brag a little more haha.

Warnings:

Do NOT gamble money you can't afford to lose. Even the best teams in the world can lose to shitty teams. There is no such thing as a guaranteed bet.

Do NOT gamble ALL your money on one bet. No matter how confident you are. If you only bet a % of your money and your bet loses, you can still recover with the remainder of your bank roll.

End:

I gamble a lot so I fully understand everything I have wrote but for users who don't gamble often it may be very confusing. If you need any help or have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM or post on the thread and i'll try to reply as quickly as possible.

Nice guide. I'd like to see your guide include the Asian Handicap too.

Also, would like to see your guide explain American odds because it was a pain to understand at first.

I've added an odds section and added a small part with some resources for asian handicap. 🙂
