Not to be totally rude - and I DON'T want to offend anyone.

But I have a couple of friends that watch animie and goes to cosplay events - and for what I can conclude, from those events-pictures is, that the average cosplayer does not look very good IRL . Why?

They're really good at dressing up, and look authentic, and it seems like they're having a great time. But when I look at the persons Facebook profiles, because they're tagged in the pictures - most of them are shockingly ugly - and even some of them does have manga as their profile-picture- and maybe 1 or 2 old pictures from like 2011..

I went into many accounts, and i could conclude than all of them, without any deviation, that they looked terrible, overweight or tired.

I know some of you guys will be outraged about my question - but try to answer my question in a sober way - i'm not trying to conclude anyting, im just curious.

Leave the cosplay to Japanese people, seriously. Like 1% of Westerners who cosplay pull it off, and that's a very small percentage. And yes, I pulled that percentage out of my ass.

Not exactly that answer i was looking for - i'm talking about the guys behind this cosplay's masks n' shit. Why do mostly ugly people (im talking from the western countries) fall for cosplay and manga?

All cosplayers I have seen i Denmark ex. are ugly IRL..

Because most people related to gaming/cosplay aren't the type of ppl that engage a lot in social activities, and there's a reason for that. Most of them just don't look that appealing as people that work with people on a daily base.

So, in pretty much any realm of interest (except maybe modeling), the crowd will more than likely have more average/ugly looking people than attractive ones. Same thing could be said for just about any area of interest, like hockey....or airplane pilots.
