Founder of Corona Beer Makes Residents of Spanish Village all Millionaires
Antonino Fernández, the eccentric billionaire who helped build the Grupo Modelo group, has left $210 million to the 80 residents of his birthplace. Fernández came from humble beginnings, but died a billionaire at the age of 99. He was forced to leave the village of Cerezales del Condado and migrate to Mexico at the age of 14 due to financial difficulties, but he never forgot his roots. At the age of 32, he was the CEO of Grupo Modelo: the company that brews Corona beer. Corona is not only the most popular beer in Mexico, but it is also the second-most imported beer in the US. As a result of Fernández’ will, each villager will inherit $2.49 million. The town will also receive a brand new cultural center and local non-profit foundation with 300 employees. >>Source

Entire Internet History of UK Citizens to be Viewable by Government Bodies Within Weeks
A recently passed bill called “The Investigatory Powers Bill” will force ISPs to keep a full list of customers’ Internet Connection Records (ICRs) for a year, and those records will be available to government agencies if they inquire. The ICRs will provide a comprehensive list of everything that has been visited and when it has been visited by an individual. Aside from law enforcement organizations having access to the information, other government bodies like the Food Standards Agency and Gambling Commission will also have access. However, not every government employee within the organizations will have access. As determined in the act, only those of higher government ranks will be able to access to the information. >>Source

Many of World’s Poorest Countries Aiming to Function on 100% Renewable Energy
Forty-Seven of the world’s poorest countries recently discussed shortening the transition to renewable energy. Instead of building a system which first relies on fossil fuels, they hope to jump straight to completely renewable energy. As laid out during the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF) at the UN Climate Change Conference in Morocco, the countries wish to do something which is known in economics as “leapfrogging.” In this case, “leapfrogging” involves skipping the fossil fuel stage of development that many other countries have taken in their energy development. Leapfrogging is not only theoretical, as it has successfully been done before in other technological pursuits. In this interest of upholding the Paris Agreement, which aims to keep global temperatures from rising 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels, the countries have set a plan to accomplish their goal between the years of 2030 and 2050. >>Source

Niantic Finally Adds Ditto to Pokémon Go
Following a decline in its player base, Pokémon Go recently launched a major update that will give players a big reason to pick up the game again. The last non-legendary Pokémon from the original Kanto Pokédex to make an appearance in Pokémon Go, Ditto, has finally been included in the game. You catch Ditto like any other Pokémon in Pokémon GO: you find it in the wild, you lure it or it spawns due to Incense. However, you will not see a pink blob just hanging around in the park. You will see it disguised as another Pokémon and there is no way of knowing if a certain creature in the map is Ditto.

How You Could Soon See a Netflix Tax on Your Bill
Video streaming taxes are already established in some cities across the country, but a "Netflix tax" could soon be a reality for some California cities. Pasadena city council recently announced a steep 9.4% tax on streaming video, which it arbitrarily decided to classify as a utility. The council defended the decision, saying the tax — which was approved seemingly out of nowhere — was necessary to make up for lost tax revenue from those ditching traditional cable television and landline phones. The residents are outraged, and the council has been getting flak for weeks. Pasadena City Councilman Tyron Hampton said “My constituents do not want this tax. Even if it is just a couple of dollars. It is being taxed twice.”

Google to Penalize Mobile Sites With Intrusive Ads
Google is making significant changes to its search engine on the mobile side. Starting in 2017, publishers using annoying, intrusive pop-up ads may be penalized in page rankings on Google, the company said Tuesday in a blog post. Essentially, Google wants search results to favor sites that have the best information and the least annoying advertisements that cover up that information. "While the underlying content is present on the page and available to be indexed by Google," the blog post reads, "content may be visually obscured by an interstitial. This can frustrate users because they are unable to easily access the content that they were expecting when they tapped on the search result."

You Can Finally Catch Ditto in Pokemon Go!
Ditto is finally catchable in Pokemon Go, according to multiple reports online. It appears the transforming blob is masquerading as other Pokemon, and only reveals itself after you catch them. Some users seem to think this phenomenon is restricted to, or more common in, critters in the 2 km egg group--like Spearow, Magikarp, and the generation one starter Pokemon. Others have reported Ditto is emerging from rarer monsters, though everything's a little uncertain right now. In battle, Ditto acts much like it does in mainline Pokemon games: it only knows one move, Transform, which metamorphoses it into your opponent's Pokemon, simultaneously adopting that enemy's moves. Hopefully, this means that more Pokemon are on the way as players have begun to lose interest in the game. >>Source

Monster Hunter Movie Coming Sooner Than We Thought
In September, Capcom revealed that a Monster Hunter movie was in the works. Now, we know that veteran director Paul W.S. Anderson, who made 1995's Mortal Kombat and all the Resident Evil films starring Milla Jovovich, is taking on the project. Deadline reports that Anderson and his producing partner Jeremy Bolt are shopping a Monster Hunter movie to studios right now. Anderson wrote a script, which, alongside VFX renderings of creatures from the film, are being pitched to studios by their manager, Ken Kamins. The filmmakers have put together a "detailed game plan" that also includes a partnership with Toronto-based VFX studio Mr. X. Anderson worked with that team for the Resident Evil series. Anderson also discussed his meeting with Capcom executives about getting the Monster Hunter movie rights. "We were very respectful, down to me getting on a plane to Japan. But contractually, we could have just done whatever we wanted," Anderson said. Bolt added, "They've said what they love about Paul is he understood the spirit of the game and expanded and made more of it. Commercially and creatively, they really respect that. They are trusting us again, on Monster Hunter." Video game movies have a tendency to flop, but here's to hoping that Monster Hunter will be a rare success.

Researchers Steal Tesla by Hacking into Owner's Phone
Hacking "connected" cars is nothing new. A security firm based in Norway, Promon, has found that hackers can steal a Tesla by hacking the company's official Android app. Tesla's Android app allows car owners to interact with their car. They infected a Tesla owner's phone with malware, compromised the Tesla app, which would allow them to locate, unlock, and drive off with the Tesla Model S. Tesla has stated that the vulnerability isn't within its app, but used social engineering to get people to install malware on their device, which then compromised the whole phone--not just the Tesla app.[i][size=x-small][url=http://thehackernews.com/2016/11/hacking-tesla-car.html] >>Source

19-Year-Old Hacker Awaiting Sentence for DDoS Attack
The Mirai botnet, that slowed half the internet to a crawl, has recieved worldwide exposure because of the shear effect that it had. Following, numerous hackers have created their own DDoS tools. 19-year-old student from Hertford, Adam Mudd, created and ran the most popular booter on the market: Titanium Stresser. The service netted him over $385,000, according to Eastern Region Special Operations Unit. People used it against sites across the globe.
